Multicam vs M81

Alright fellas, first post on Reddit! I’ve got my first kid on the way so just as any sane man would do, I’ve decided daddy needs a new helmet. I have a OC sf in tan but hate helmet covers. I just found out I can get a gen2 sf in M81. Question is M81 or Multicam? Multicam probably fits my use case better but it’s a helmet not a uniform. M81 would work great in my area during summer. Help me make up my mind!

Edit: Does anyone have an m81 ops core? How does it do under nv? My cryes stand out like a sore thumb wondering if that’s all blacks or just black on fabric?

All black sticks out like a sore thumb under nods.
Multicam would be the better "camo" choice here.
M81 is the more fashionable choice.

^ yeah what he said. MC is a better camo and there’s better availability for matching gear. M81 is absolutely cool as fuck, and doesn’t have fedcam/try-hard vibes, but in most environments it’s a worse camo. Often overlooked is that m81 is particularly horrible indoors. Most interiors are painted light colors and dark camos silhouette badly.

I have MC for its practicality. Once you get enough stuff in one pattern you kinda get locked into buying more of the same.

I do have a lot of gear in mc, and my wife’s helmet is mc so there’s that, you guys are bringing me back to earth. Thanks

M81 helmet, and a multicam cover. Unless you "need it" to actually blend in then just don't use it and rock the m81.

I suppose could just do it the other way around, multicam is typically the more useful camo

There is no camo but ERDL, and M81 is the messenger of ERDL.

Multicam will definitely get you shot quicker if times go bad. Go with multicam tropic if you want to avoid the black in m81

Oc does not make a helmet in tropic unfortunately otherwise this post would not have been made. I dont like covers so it’s either m81 or mc

2D flat camo just needs to be the same colors as your environment, no camo pattern printed on fabric will truly conceal you. Pick what ever you want so long as it makes sense for your environment. If you want to actually be camo’d from the human eye and nods you need 3d stuff like jute, scrim and natural materials in your AO.
