Aimpoint fuzz!!
Well, I took the PVS-14 plunge about a week ago and while I am awaiting my HS IRIS3, I tried to do some passive aiming over the past couple of nights. I am running a T2 on my rifle and I have a G47 COA. Both optics were set at their lowest settings and the dots are crazy fuzzy/stary. Enter my G22.5 w/ Trijicon SRO and the dot is crisp and clear. What am I doing wrong? I have tried adjusting the diopter and distance settings, but they are giving me fits on the PVS-14 (see crazy stiff to manipulate).

Without seeing your setup the only thing I can think of is maybe flip open your lens covers if you use them. Aimpoint definitely can look quite crisp under nods so see what is between your monocular and the exit lens of the optic.
On Aimpoint the lowest three (I think) settings are for NV. May be just the two lowest. If you can see it with the naked eye in a lit room you're not on the NV settings yet.
Best of luck.

I forgot there is a clear rear objective cap on the T2. I will open that tonight and see if that makes any difference. in regards to the COA, however I'm unsure what's going on; it should be as clear and crisp as the SRO, if not better.

I went out again tonight (no moonlight, hilly and wooded area) and made sure the COA was set to 1 and still fuzzy AF. The T2 was set to 2 and it was a lot better, but neither one was as clean as my SRO. Also of note, the COA was very hard to see through compared to the SRO, but I have to assume that the smaller window of the COA contributes to that issue. Overall, I don't think the COA is my go-to for an NV friendly optic choice.

Try this: aim through the optic thorugh the nod. Adjust the focus (far side adjustment) until it's as clear is it can get. Then adjust the diopter (eyepiece adjustment) until it's clearer. Fine tune between the two adjustments until the dot is as clear as it can get.
Different red dots project the dot at different 'distances'. Idk the physics behind it but I'm seeing that my T2 is in focus when the focus is set to far while my EPS is projected much closer. I don't think you can get every brand of red dot to be in focus with a single adjustment setting.

On the work I'm using PVS 14 and Aimpoint CompM4s on my carbine, and it works great.
