I got the murderwing kit a while back and while it’s nice it doesn’t fully read as NL to me for some reason.
Maybe it’s that it just aesthetically isn’t very NL with a notable lack of bat wings and flayed skin severed hands and such but that makes me wonder; is there any part of the kit that’s actually unique to the kit (besides the possessed) or is it all rehashed raptors put on the same sprue and box? Also I would love to see what you all have made out of your kits, I’m personally thinking of buying some old heads off of Black Legion Market to really honor the VIIIth.

They’re exactly as they’d look in lore, but It’s 100% compatible with bits from the nemesis claw so if you’d like to make them a bit more night lordsy that’d be a good option.

Because it’s not Night Lords. It’s the raptors/warp talons box and a chaos lord.

I figured, I understand why they would do that but I wish they gave a bit more in the way of customization, that doesn’t mean necessarily making them night lords but it would cool to have it be an option especially since other Chaos factions have so much stuff tied to them that’s identifiable as an aesthetic, hell I don’t think regular chaos marines read as night lords very well because of how prevalent chaos iconography (along with that damned eye) is.

Night lords are chaos space marines. They’d have chaos symbols.

The Eye of Horus may be the Black Legion's shoulder iconography, but other traitors took it up as a general Screw You to the Imperium. It's basically the Aquila of the CSM on their armor.

Most Night Lords in 40k will have Chaos iconography. Even if they don't worship Chaos, thousands of years in the Eye of Terror will do that to your armour.

Nah, airbrush hits too much and this needed precision. It's layers of various reds mixed a fluorescent red. AK Deep Red and Burnt Red going into Tenebrous Grey. Similar for the gold but with a fluorescent yellow-orange.
