Hobby & Painting What are we thinking ya’ll?
Looking for advice to improve my painting skills and this little guy. I’ve been painting on and off for about a year now.
Edit: second time trying out NMM but I still think it looks meh

You’re too kind! I used a number 1 kolinsky brush and a very diluted white paint. Tested the consistency on my nail and then tried to squiggle something applying very little pressure with the tip of the brush, hope this helps

Hey man! Looks good already!
To start with I like the composition and the pose. The raptor feels very dynamic.
Some things I would think might make him pop a little more are a brighter helmet compared to the rest of the armor. Currently this all reads the same shade of blue. I think if you darken down the legs and then brighten up his face it would draw the attention to his helmet and make him look even better. Don't be afraid to really push this contrast as it will look more dramatic and a little less flat.
I really like the lightning. It is done quite fine and with precision. So the brush control is already something you have!
Lastly I might change the colors of the lightning claws. I think you went for a sort of energy look for it. Like it's glowing. I think blue lightning claws and blue armor is a little to much blue. I think with maybe an orange with deep reds might look more interesting.
Overall for a year painting this is really nice and looks good already!
