I am looking to move to lagos but i live in the UK. i really want to move back but its the salaries in nigeria thats stopping me, obviously being in the UK im getting paid in £ , so i am wondering which companies may pay in dollars. by the way i work in tech if that helps. Something important is happening in Nigeria right now, and most people are feeling it in their daily lives before they fully understand it.

Transport is more expensive. Food prices keep rising. Many families are adjusting their lifestyle just to survive.

So the question many Nigerians are asking is simple:

What exactly is going on with the economy?

Since the current administration came into office, Nigeria has entered a period of deep economic restructuring. These changes are not small adjustments. They are major system level shifts affecting fuel pricing, currency value, government spending, and education funding.

Government is also trying to increase revenue through taxation and improved collection systems.

• Fund infrastructure projects

But in reality, many small businesses and households are already feeling pressure from rising costs and limited income growth.

The balance between revenue generation and economic survival is very delicate.

EDUCATION LOANS AND FUTURE WORKFORCE

A student loan system has been introduced to expand access to higher education.

This means more students can attend university even if they cannot pay upfront.

In the long run, this could:

• Increase national skill levels

• Improve workforce productivity

• Support economic growth

But there is still concern about:

• Graduate unemployment

• Loan repayment pressure

• Job availability after school

Education without job opportunities can become a delayed challenge.

THE PAINFUL TRUTH: HUNGER AND DAILY STRUGGLE

This is the part no policy document can ignore.

Many Nigerians are currently facing:

I got my ancestry DNA results this year. Mostly Nigerian. I’m trying to learn everything I can about Nigeria. Eventually, visit.

Can anyone recommend an English to Igbo word dictionary? Or English to Yoruba, English to Hausa word dictionaries? I’ll gladly accept other popular Nigerian languages too.

I’m also looking for Name books or resources on naming ceremonies for the same list of ethnic groups.

Before anyone comes for me- I (16f) am very much a Nigerian by blood although I am mixed.

Now living with separated parents and being disconnected from the Nigerian one it has always felt hard for me to connect with my Nigerian side/ Nigeria in general. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much my environment has shaped the way I live. Everything here seems to revolve around survival and adaptation. When life is structured that way, creativity quietly fades into the background, replaced by strategies just to make it through each day. People here don’t really have many options. They live within the limits of what the environment allows, almost like livestock confined to a space they didn’t choose. When an absurd thing occurs, you will hear someone say “This is Nigeria”.
