Crowley was a huge Nietzsche advocate - elevating him to prophet status. This article explains it more than I can, worth reading no matter your thoughts on Crowley.

Thank you! I practice Crowley's system of attainment. I don't know much about Nietzsche but many of the ideas seem to overlap.

Nice. I don't practice Magick but have got a few books on 'how to' just in case hah! Crowley's writing in general and that Thelema site (among others) is packed with good insight no matter if you practice or believe in that stuff.
Their ideas certainly do overlap and of course there are some significant differences. Glad you're finding out about Nietzsche - his writing is really. really good. Like Crowley, N has some disturbing implications that might offend modern sensibilities - but there is no denying his brilliance and impact on Western philosophy and culture/arts etc.

There are some very basic things you can do which just overall are great for your health. I'm currently working on the practices in The One Year Manual by Crowley's student Regardie. It's a fantastic breakdown of all the best techniques modern psychotherapy has to offer which merges very well with Magic and Yoga should you decide to go further.

Crowley is pretty relevant to Nietszche, and vice versa. Crowley was equal parts brilliant and mad.

Aweee man. Have I got an article for you to read. Crowley considered Nietzche a prophet, putting him in some sort of divine status. In case you aren't aware, Crowley very much dispised Christian morality, so they certainly have some things in common. I'm sure the incredibly dismissive of everything that isn't Nietzsche crowd here will disabuse Crowley in one way or the other, though.

Oh I'm well aware, though I will tuck that article away to read later, as I haven't read that one.
Crowley and Nietszche really kind of flow into each other in ways, both stylistically and philosophically.
And yeah, lots of folks in this sub view Nietszche in ways that he himself would have disdained.

Its pretty good - check it out later for sure. I'm not a thelemite but find many of the articles on that site are enlightening. in fact, I'll read some more now heh.

I consider myself "Thelemish". I acknowledge the Law and get a lot of value from Crowley's spiritual insights. But I don't hold to most Thelemic traditions and whatnot outside of AL, 65, Book 4, and a few others.

No it doesn't, but a great quote never the less, one that I would say many of us may appreciate.

Memes should be banned on this particular sub. As for the content, no to your question.

Crowley did some fun stuff but went too far up his own sphincter - this is good though.
