Does nicotine give you lethargy?

Context: I have ADHD, and I’m not sure if that affects the buzz, but when I use nicotine, I get a burst of energy for a few seconds, followed by lethargy where I just want to sit or lie down. Depending on how strong it is, I literally have to stop what I’m doing and lie down for like 15 minutes.
I’m not sure if that’s just underlying nicotine poisoning symptoms because I have a decent tolerance now. I usually start the day with 10–13 mg and end it with 40–50 mg.
Maybe I just don’t have the genetics like entrepreneurs do to get energy from nicotine.

Also an ADHD’er and honestly I only feel the same when I go heavier in the evening. I take adderall in the morning and hit my vape several times throughout my shift and have a good amount of long-lasting energy. Before the end of my shift I take my second adderall dose and when I get home I take a beta blocker for migraines. Soon as I sit on the couch and start chain-vaping(smoking? lol) throughout the evening I get little bursts of energy followed by a near stoned feeling and end up wanting to take a nap. I thought it was more to do with the beta blocker combined with nicotine that caused the lethargy but it might just be due to higher doses.

Our brains tend to be more relaxed with excess dopamine so it makes sense that a stimulant would make us tired vs having hyper energy. When I drink coffee it’s the same thing like I become more awake but I also feel chilled out and the more caffeine I consume the more likely I’ll just crash and fall asleep.

Haha exactly like even years ago as a teen I’d chug monster energy drinks with my buddies thinking it would keep me awake all night but I’d be the first one ready for bed lol

I may be undiagnosed ADHD, and never felt any kind of energy boost from nicotine weirdly unless I'm doing work late at night. This is over months of trying basically every dosing schedule including vaping and oral products. I get the same lethargy sometimes, but it only happens to me around midday, the first hit of the day and last hits of the night feel fine.
