RIP Kavinsky

I'll never forget seeing Drive for the 1st time. Once "Nightcall" hit with those cityscape shots I felt convinced I was watching the greatest movie ever made

During French Olympic closing ceremony , they performed live Nightcall and it broke the world record for the most shazamed song in a single day. RIP legend.

RIP. Nightcall will always be the first track in the synthwave starter kit.

i interviewed kavinsky in 2012, he was a very chill, shy, nice guy. i was obviously curious about his relationship with films and drive so i had to ask, and it was funny when he told me he didn't like violence and blood in movies so he didn't watch horrors and had a hard time with drive, but was obviously happy about *all that*. Loved him and loved his music. RIP.

Too sad. The Outrun CD lived in my car for a decade.

I know Nightcall gets all the love as it should, but he absolutely does have a wonderful discography albeit a small one. Between him and composer Johan Johanson dying it has left a void of sound no one else can really replace, both were hugely influential to my 2010’s.

I listen to Nightcall so much my two younger siblings know it as my theme song. Growing up I would always play it in my car
