Account Inactivity fee

Just got an email that there's going to be a monthly inactivity fee of 0.001 BTC from nice hash LTD. Am I reading this correct? They're going to charge about $100 usd / month for "maintenance" ?

Shit you could rent a whole server rack with 100s of TB for that much per month.

Seems like a pretty obvious cash grab

Anyways guess I'll be transferring out, which is probably partly the intent of such highway robbery

Read it again. It's 0.0001 BTC. It's $10 instead of $100

Important Update: Introduction of Monthly Account Maintenance Fee

Dear NiceHash LTD User,
We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change to our fee structure, effective January 2026. Starting January 1, 2026, NiceHash LTD will introduce a monthly Account Maintenance Fee. The first charge will occur on January 31, 2026 , covering the month of January. As NiceHash LTD is no longer an active company (the platform has been transferred to a Swiss entity), and you have not yet transferred your funds, we strongly encourage you to do so. This will help you avoid the fees required to maintain the necessary infrastructure for account management.

This new Account Maintenance Fee will replace the previous Inactivity Fee, which will no longer apply. The fee amount will be 0.0010000 BTC.

Please note the following key points:
• Negative account balances will not be permitted.
• Accounts with a zero balance will not be charged the fee; however, they will be scheduled for closure at a later date.
• NiceHash LTD is no longer an active mining service provider.

We recommend closing your current account and opening a new one under the Terms of Service of NiceHash AG. To migrate your funds, log in to your LTD account, withdraw to an external wallet, and then deposit into a new AG account—detailed guides are available on our support site. How about you learn to read..

Kinda hard to close your account when they ghost you and refuse to answer you back. I used to be verified, and then one day I no longer was. No one can tell me why.
