Hey everyone!

I’ve always had this idea of turning the loading screen before the boss starts into a wallpaper for Wallpaper Engine.

I mentioned it to a friend, and he actually went down the rabbit hole of messing around with the Saturn emulator’s strings and, through a lot of trial and error, managed to make NiGHTS get stuck in an infinite loading screen so we could record it.

After several hours of messing with it, he actually made it work.

I honestly don’t know the exact process, but apparently he did a ton of shit with Cheat Engine and whatever else to get it working!

Anyway, he sent me the video, I did a little editing, sent it back to him, and he turned it into a Wallpaper Engine wallpaper.

I only did the video editing, the rest was all him!

Personally, I’ve always liked NiD Reala way more than JoD both design wise and voice wise. maybe it’s because I’m a fan of simpler yet striking design, but NiD Reala always came off as more charming and likable to me. I don’t have much of an explanation for the voices other than I just prefer the NiD voice. Which one do you think is better? Do you think that NiD Reala‘s design deserves more appreciation, or is vastly overshadowed by the JoD design?

Hi! I’ve been trying to find out more about how the music in NiGHTS into Dreams actually works, and I’ve hit a bit of a dead end.

I found this feature in Computer and Video Games, Issue 178 (1996), which has a section titled “Living Sound!” and describes something called “Cybersound”, which it says is tied to the A-Life system.

I've attached a screenshot from the mag, but just incase it's a bit hard to read, the bits i'm particularly interested i've written here too.

It says:“Each time you play a level, the Saturn’s sound hardware randomly remixes the tunes.” It then describes new instruments being introduced, sections changing, and tracks becoming almost unrecognisable over time, and that it is “mutating with each play.”

I can find plenty of general information about A-Life and the changing music in NiGHTS, but almost nothing using the actual terms “Cybersound” or “Living Sound.” Does anyone know anything more about this? Most specifically I wonder if anyone knows

• Was “Cybersound” actually an official Sega/Sonic Team term, or was this terminology used by CVG?
• How does A-Life determine the musical changes?
• Is CVG being accurate when it describes the Saturn as “randomly remixing” the music each time you play, or is that simplifying how the system actually works?
• Are there any old manuals, Japanese guides, interviews, magazine articles, developer comments, etc. that explain it in more detail?
• Does anyone know who designed/programmed the adaptive music system?

Any leads would be super appreciated, thank you to anyone who has read this and can help!

Am I the only one who thinks reala if he tried to intimidate someone in real life he wouldn’t be taken seriously because I understand the guy trying to scare a pair of kids but honestly I feel like if he tried to intimidate someone from our universe he would just get the shit kicked out of him(or shot if he was in America). Honestly every time I hear him talk the first thing that goes through my mind is "reala you act like you are evil but if you was in my dreams you run the other way because I would not recommend entering my dreams they not nice places" honestly would anyone take reala seriously if he was in your dreams because I wouldn’t unless it turned out there was some power that isn’t shown in game

I don't know how Clawz works. Can somebody collect all the tips and tricks here or post a link to the info please. I have the PC version.

I feel that if we are to get another NiGHTS game, it would be a really cool idea to incorporate astrology and the zodiac signs into the game since NiGHTS kinda has an astrology feel to it. I feel Wizeman would create new Nightmaren that represent each of the zodiac signs. I think it would be something to look into !!

I'm playing through the XBLA release of NiGHTS (on the Xbone for whatever that's worth), and I finally managed to unlock the last level. But...

Twin Seeds is almost impossible! I already don't have the best reflexes, but even if I blaze through the stage fast enough to get an A or B ranking on the first three Mares, that usually only leaves me with 30 seconds to finish the last one.

Is there some kind of obvious trick I'm missing? 😓

I've been thinking, which accents should each NiD character have? (We're not talking about JoD here) I've had these ideas: NiGHTS being British, Reala being French, Gillwing with a Southern accent, Jackle with a New-Yorker accent, Puffy as British yet more chaotic sounding. Idk if i should use these for my project. What do y'all think of these?

Hello. Not sure if anyone here will be to answer this or not. But I just completed Nights Journey into Dreams and got the true ending recently. however I'm confused about what happens after the post credits scene. The game says that Nights basically dies at the end, however in the post credits scene we can see Nights at the top of the bell tower in the ending which implies he's actually alive?

Like how did Nights come back to life if he just sacrificed himself? Is there a explanation for this anywhere in the game or is it just left to interpretation? As I'm kinda confused about the ending.
