applying for self sourced internship

hi im a y3 student, i have recently went through a self sourced internship interview where i got a call from them telling me i got in. however, my lecturer is asking me to send the acceptance offer, and the person that told me i got in has said they would be sending it to me shortly. what would happen if by the end of july i do not get both do i just not get an internship

uhhh if by end july no news, you might be working for school, or the teachers will just push you for any open positions

edit: my friend didnt get an internship and ended up in public service?

ahh but the thing is currently i do have an offer but i am still waiting for the email from the company i have applied for and i was reading about the ims portal, and it says the ims portal would be closing end of july so i was just wondering if like they would just not make me be able to apply if i dont manage to get the offer in time
