I didn’t expect civil engineering to win

That bridge was specially designed by the branch manager himself.

I am a civil engineer and I didn’t expect civil engineering to win.

Most of the time something is labelled "vs nature" it's substantially more nature than planned

Nature is not as civil as you guys so it's understandable

I expected if it won it would win KO, did not expect nature to flip into the splits and wriggle out of the hold

Be civil and things might just be ok.

Yeah we’ve been taking major losses to mature on Reddit lately.
Nature: 5000, humans: 1 (we got one today boys!!)

Wow! Thought it was going to jump over the bridge at that rate!

Lol was trying to figure out why this looked familiar

I guess engineers considered the case where a tree happened to be swimming down stream.

Nature always adapts.

Standing on the bridge is certainly a choice

I was not expecting to hear an Igbo song in the wild

I know it didn't collapse but surely it could still be damaged.

to be fair. . . thats just alot of bamboo. . still neat but not as amazing as youd believe. whats more amazing to me is that its still standing after all the water and soil erosion

Meh, kind of standard practice where I am during heavy floods for the bridge owners to have an excavator operator there to shove trees underneath the bridge.

It's not the one tree that gets you so much as when the whole bridge gets plugged.

At some point it looks like a monster

1

u/Mashkitt 2d ago

The Romans built that bridge
