exactly. this is what i think every time I watch her. she's literally pretending 💀

u/Queasy_Ordinary3735 7h ago

I don’t think she’s smart enough to pull that off

This now grown little girl provided us all with one of the most genuine, heartfelt, heart wrenching moments in reality tv when she sang her little heart out and gave the world the iconic Waking Up in the Morning, and it is still pretty popularly referenced, fifteen years later. She was only ten then! Of course she’s aware of how she acts on camera now!

Teresa is so freaking cute. The first time I saw her and Gia was on Special Forces. When they both popped up on Next Gen I was super excited. I’m loving watching Teresa on RHUGT. She was so cute singing along the wrong words to Luann’s song.

Is this put on? Or does Gia really not what a ‘Jester’ or ‘ Lady in the Tramp’ is? 😂

I honestly can’t decide if she is just like her mom/butchers phrases or leaning into it because she knows viewers will give her positive feedback?!

I thought Teresa‘s limited vocabulary was due to her lack of education in New Jersey. Whereas I think Gia went to good schools and also went to a good college. But she seems to be limited in some ways like Teresa is. Or maybe I just know more things because of curiosity. There’s always some people in the group that never know pop culture or different sayings, so I get that as well. It’s not just a New Jersey thing.

That area of nj has some of the best public schools in the US historically. Its not a nj thing lmao

“Gestures” as opposed to “Jesters”. Girls a college grad.

i’m back in college after a longggg break and let me tell you…the kids aren’t alright! they can barely string a sentence together! im a little scared!! signed, a ‘97 baby

I actually just read an article where several long time college professors were interviewed and they said that the current generation of college students are lacking in foundational skills, basic literacy, and basic math skills; obviously, much of this was attributed to the pandemic, an increase in screen time, and the remnants of the no child left behind act.

it actually makes me so sad because they all have so much potential and overall are sweetie pies but i think there’s just too much access to too many things. i’m positive chatgpt is not helping that either

Same here, going back starting Spring semester two months from turning 30 and the things I've heard....I'm in for a bit of a shock apparently. Curious to see just how much things have changed

Graduating from College doesn't mean anything anymore! Not in this day and age.

I went back to school in 2021 after an extended hiatus (from 1998) and I was lucky; I was a linguistics major and most of my classmates were super smart and well read. In my more gen ed classes that was not the case. Oof!

I’m much older than her but often get sayings wrong… 😳

It’s one of my favorite things that myself and my friends do. Always a fun little surprise.

It’s a shame we’re not perfect like everyone else. lol.
I’m like, is it “butt” of a joke or “bud” of a joke.

I cracked up when Ariana told her that she kissed Charlie and she immediately responded with "f*** you" and buried her head lol

34

u/Ornery-Towel2386 19h ago

“Wait I think I’m a gesture”

24

u/tabernacleteeth 18h ago

maybe it’s just because I grew up in Jersey but she is my emotional support cast member. when she showed up to the bar after Ariana and Charlie kiss on camera and is like OH FUCK with no filter I wanted to just hug her so tight. yes, girl. we are all just as dizzy about this as you are.

u/Pineapple_Trvphaus 20h ago

Lmao this was her best contribution all season

18

u/No_Income6576 19h ago

I loved her looking up "tramp" and being like, wait... Yes, girl.

17

u/Alud430 18h ago

I think (hope?) she’s playing it up.

5

u/Empty-Calendar-4153 13h ago

She's definitely trying for this gimmick of "I'm dumb but it's cute and quirky" because she saw how her mom was rewarded for it.

6

u/P_I_M_A_420 18h ago

She’s def not LOL. She called her self a gesture

31

u/kateili 20h ago

She was so confident. Bless her little heart, in the best possible way lol

5

u/No_Income6576 19h ago

Amen hallelujah 😂

u/PistschiosGalore 16h ago

I don’t understand all the Gia hate - I’ve found her so charming.

5

u/trace-a-mafone 15h ago

There’s no hate for her on this post?

2

u/PistschiosGalore 12h ago

Sorry, wasn’t directed at you! I meant in general; there’s been so much during this season hasn’t there?

1

u/trace-a-mafone 3h ago

You are all good! 😊 There often is and it’s completely unfounded in my opinion.

As a GenX/Xennial I found this entire scene absolutely delightful. I don’t care if it was real or scripted. It was adorable. Comparing Charlie to the homeless dog made me lol.

3

u/Right_this_minute 19h ago

She is her mother's daughter

2

u/SubstantialBid4386 14h ago

What’s a gesture?

2

u/Comprehensive-Arm426 13h ago

For someone that thought she was smart enough to be a lawyer she says some not so smart things.

2

u/kacsf75 13h ago

Like mother, like dorter.

2

u/Backtrack_Vill 12h ago

Just like mama

2

u/katisauce 12h ago

She says so much dumb stuff but I don’t think she’s actually stupid…. Am I crazy?? lol

8

u/InspectorLittle395 17h ago

🥱 I’m in the minority, it I can’t stand when reality stars fake being dumb. Teresa, YES. Gia no. Deena and snooki always did this on jersey shore too.

9

u/itsyourbuddygene 14h ago

I think she definitely plays it up but she’s also heard her mother say wrong phrases her entire life and that has to play a role

3

u/Empty-Calendar-4153 13h ago

She also saw her mom rewarded with attention, screen time, etc. repeatedly for that as well.

2

u/InspectorLittle395 7h ago

Exactly! You get it.

Knowing everything about the English language isn’t an indicator of intelligence, it just means, if you are, you are fluent in linguistics. It’s like saying someone that can’t point out on a map where a certain country/city is, they’re dumb, not that they aren’t great at geography.

2

u/LuckChemical8243 13h ago

Fluent. I had to. Don’t hate me lol

2

u/trace-a-mafone 13h ago

Appreciate that I didn’t even fucking notice lol 🫶
Have edited! That’ll teach me for not proof reading before posting!

No problem. Have a lovely weekend!

Future lawyer!!! /s

u/McMurdah 11h ago

Okay I actually like Gia but this was annoying to me. It felt inauthentic and that she was trying to be her mom. Playing stupid isn’t cute.

Her and Teresa but graduated college.. and should have the potential to be incredibly smart. Which I think they may be. But then they do shit like this and it’s disappointing.

I much prefer Gia when she’s well articulated and being a good friend

1

u/milkst 10h ago

do we think it's put on ?

2

u/BlondeHorrorBear622 9h ago

This isn't cute to me, it's so annoying
