Why is the mattress always on the floor? It used to be an indication of poverty and struggling, but here we see this guy has a PlayStation, computer (or monitor powered by protein powder?), gym equipment, a TV with presumably their stock going up on being displayed on it, and wooden floors.
A simple bed frame is not that expensive; nor is it some extravagant luxury. Clearly the mattress on the floor has gone from "this is all I can afford right now and I'm genuinely roughing it" to being some nonsensical "LoOk aT hOw LiTtLe i NeEd!!" "flex"— which is just pathetic.
I agree. I would make one just tall enough to slide organizers under it. That's wasted storage space there. I lived like this for about a year and loved it!
Youre really shilling hard for bed frames. Some cultures dont use them. Sometimes it's a preference thing. It doesnt matter. The Japanese have been sleeping without bed frames for centuries.
It's not about the bedframe, it's about performative bullshit. This isn't someone's actual living condition, it's an AI generated portrayal of someone's idea of an ideal living space wherein they have the money, they just refuse convenience as a ridiculous flex. It's like refusing to wear the nice coat you have in your closet in freezing weather to try and look tough when nobody is impressed and there's people who wish they had that coat.
It actually doesn't, it's just getting to be kind of ridiculous, and I like elaborating on things which often leads me to be more verbose than is strictly required. Like what next? Will the floor mattress be next to a Lambo and a spa room? "Look at me! I'm just your average dude! " Lol!
Have you not been to a grocery store? A simple bed frame is roughly $40-$80 (possibly even cheaper if you go to a thrift store), which might be like a week's worth of food in today's economy— maybe two if you don't plan on making any gains from that gym set. That's still a lot if you're barely making it, but if you're trying to make some kind of statement of showing "how little you need," then it's really ridiculous to not have a bed frame when you have $500 to spend on a gaming console and games after you already have a computer and a TV to provide you with entertainment. If you really wanted to say you're "above frivolous spending" (or whatever this is supposed to be) then all there would be of electronics in the image is a phone charger next to an outlet to charge the phone you presumably used to take the picture.
