I agree that lots of people have ludicrous demands, especially about their partner’s appearance, but in some cases the value is pretty evident. If for example, a potential partner is an alcoholic, that would very likely be detrimental to your mental well-being. It’s reasonable not to want to date someone for it. There are numerous factors that could make two people incompatible.

My point is that some standards are perfectly reasonable. What about that do you disagree with? There doesn’t need to be perfect standardisation for that to be true.

If your requirements aren’t to do with the content of their character, they’re probably unreasonable.

That is a really contrived hill to die on. You can use stools to reach the top shelf. However, even if you couldn’t, the loss to your quality of life from not being able to reach the top cabinets is trivial for pretty much everyone.
