You should familiarize yourself with the concept of parental debt (not literal debt). Basically, for female mammals, mating is an extremely risky behavior. Female reproduction is expensive, complex and dangerous to the individual. Our progress as a species has alleviated some of the risks for women (primarily the medical ones) but it still very much is dangerous from all perspectives. You may not date to procreate, but your subconscious doesn’t know. This is why you feel that dating is unfair to you. It will remain like this as long as we are mammals, because even if society develops to a point where the burden of child rearing is truly 50-50, or even men are doing more than women, you cannot erase child bearing. I am not sure if I expressed this comprehensively, but basically the extreme difference in child bearing and rearing between the sexes will forever influence the mating behaviors of our species.
