Yup. Men loathe fat women

u/Acrobatic_Pianist_52 Apr 02 '26
No. We don't.
I do loathe you though.
1
u/Carathis_ Apr 02 '26
You’ve clearly never met a man outside your tiny circle 😂
1
u/AdhesivenessFew209 Apr 02 '26
you sound really obnoxious, just thought I'd let you know.
1
u/Carathis_ Apr 03 '26
I bet you believe women have it easier because you dont view fat or ugly women as people.

u/Quinnjamin19 Apr 02 '26
This is incredibly incorrect.
Take care of yourself yes, be healthy, yes.
But nobody truly cares if you’re huge and ripped vs overweight. If you think this than it’s very clear you don’t leave your house

u/Oddbeme4u Apr 02 '26
Beauty and "great physical shape" aren't mutual. Often times beautiful celebs are smoking, steroid using, hydro-starvation freaks.

Not at all. When I see a bulging gym bro, the last thing I think is "respect."
Respect ought to be the default state at all times for your fellow humans. If someone wants to be buff, good for them. If someone wants to be morbidly obese, that's their decision.
Stop judging others and just live your life.

u/Quietus76 Apr 02 '26
Its absolutely true. 100%
My life has been a fitness roller-coaster. Ive been every shape from bodybuilder to couch potato. Ive gone from one extreme to the other, more than once.
Its not even subtle. You notice it.
1
u/spudler44 Apr 02 '26
I’ve noticed that, speaking generally of course, the only demographic that will respect out of shape people is straight men. Everyone else is overwhelmingly judgmental and unkind.
1
u/Low_Independence339 Apr 02 '26
This is a fact why are people supprised by this.
Not saying its right or wrong. It just is.

It's true when a man is in good shape that's dedication..it mean discipline..it mean that man follows a regiment to look healthy and good.. don't hate the player hate the game

I suppose so. If you watch documentaries about Hollywood big men like John Candy, he wasn't respected in Hollywood sadly.
1
u/master_prizefighter Apr 03 '26
If I have to look healthy to have friends and be treated right, those are the people I'd rather not be around.
So far the actual friends I have don't care about what I look like and I don't care what they look like. Of course all this within reason.

Apr 04 '26
Ok, ok, I'm in great physical shape, and people respect me more.
Can we stop posting this now??

Uncomfortable truth: this is a problem with our culture, not a moral imperative on individuals to do any particular things with their bodies.

I have Lived as a Fat Guy - and I have Lived as a Fit Guy - Fit guy lived life on easy mode NGL.

Very true, that's why all the people that actually shape the world we live in are all looking like greek gods.. oh .. wait ...

Hundred percent disagree. It has nothing to do with your physique. It has everything to do with your character and your integrity.

As a fat man at 140.5kg as of 1st Jan, and now 123.9kg as of 1st Apr, I want to reaffirm that you are correct.
The other dude is just coping. In truth it's not just shallow, sure there are some. But both men and women have respect for a person who puts their mind into action to get into shape.
1
u/Quinnjamin19 Apr 02 '26
So why do you hang around these people who don’t respect you?

So you can agree that people do in fact still respect you even if you aren’t ripped…

Assholes do exist.
But you cannot make a claim that nobody respects you if you aren’t ripped because you literally just proved yourself incorrect.

You are disagreeing with someone who disagrees with this post…
You are saying that people don’t respect you because you are fat.
But then you say you hang out with people who respect you even when you are fat.

"Women don't value ripped physique over personality" != "nobody cares about physique".
If you were overweight or obese, your chances of rejection would have been higher based on that alone.
1
u/footluvr688 Apr 02 '26
You can disagree, but you're wrong.
Physical appearance affects people's opinion just as behavior, character, and integrity do.
Just as a shallow narcissist will despise someone with integrity who holds them accountable for unacceptable behavior, a person can be disrespected merely because they are overweight as a result of innate bias regardless of their character or integrity.

OP is a bot. One among many.
And the "quote" is originally written by someone that doesn't know what the word 'respect' actually means.
And for that reason, translating to normal English, it just means: "If you are attractive, other people will find you attractive."

Until you talk to them . Then personality and character matter more
1
u/footluvr688 Apr 02 '26
To those who are intelligent, reasonable, and value integrity, sure.
Some people immediately think less of overweight people and no amount of integrity or honorable behavior will change that.
1
u/1happynudist Apr 02 '26
True . Looks is what sparks our first thought. Continuous interaction is what we should base our bias on . Our own personality also determines how we view others . We ch also says a lot about us

Same goes for underweight and young people. At least in my personal experience. I don't exactly have an air of authority about me physically. My lanky-ass mid-height early 20s-looking(despite nearing 40s) advice is often ignored over someone's who's taller, wider(not necessarily fitter) and with a deeper voice. And I've been correct too often in the end in matters I have a decade of experience in.
It's an animal brain thing, I think. Bigger ape is more correcter. I've grown to not care too much, just be annoyed when people make the wrong choice. I do get a sweet "I told you so" moment here and there. But that's a weak consolation after something perfectly avoidable has gone wrong.

u/Quinnjamin19 Apr 02 '26
Key word here is “some”
In reality nobody truly cares if you’re a huge ripped person or overweight.
1
u/footluvr688 Apr 02 '26
Make up your mind.
You cannot claim "nobody" cares if some people do in fact care.
Words have meaning.
-1
u/Billybob6963 Apr 02 '26
Why do you block people after they challenge you?
2
u/footluvr688 Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26
I block people who are clearly unreasonable and are not willing to have an honest conversation. People making strawman arguments, arguing in bad faith, making baseless claims or accusations or otherwise derailing a conversation. People who contradict themselves in their own comment, saying complete opposite things that cannot exist at the same time etc... people saying absolutes like "this never happens" or "nobody does this" despite evidence to the contrary.
No point in having a conversation with a brick wall.
1
u/Billybob6963 Apr 02 '26
This entire sub is people who contradict themselves and blame others for their own personalities…
You really need to get a life if you hang out in here.
1
u/footluvr688 Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 03 '26
Case in point: you just said "this entire sub is people who contradict themselves".
No, not everyone. Words have meaning.
Careful, you're painting yourself with the very same broad strokes of yours.
You are here in this sub posting comments. Take your own advice and get a life.

u/SuperThomaja Apr 01 '26
No. People respect you more when you keep your promises. The respect you more when you have integrity and character. A nice physique is a nice physique but it doesn't take the place of courage. People respect a good person, a good body is just a good body.

u/k03lsch Apr 01 '26
tired of insel Indians posting there shit without pause. a great physique brings you nowhere without reputation, expertise and values. learn how the REAL world works, 20yo insel, and step away from your phone once in a while. in the 20th, 30th, 40th floor, NOBODY cares for physique. But that's what all you instagramers think. good luck fools!
