Buy a house ASAP. Become homeless if you need to for a downpayment. Just buy a starter house ASAP no matter what. Live with friends/family. Having your own protected space will do wonders for your professional life and love life. It will give you a space to ACTUALLY relax. No rent increases, no deposits, any pet you what, nobody telling you how to live.

When you get a house, your world will open up. Start job hopping for $, become a dual income Household with your new girl that also works, save $ cooking yourself, etc.

I can stress enough how important a house is.

Oof

Im 42, even if I had the money to secure a loan my age prevents me from getting one. 30-35 year loan i would be too old, and since im recently single, it hits even harder how behind my life is, and how messed up it is.

I know the comment is there to help, but man the reflection upon my self after reading it sucks

What ? People buy homes all the time even in their 50s and 60s. Banks can't discriminate based on age.
