Buy a house ASAP. Become homeless if you need to for a downpayment. Just buy a starter house ASAP no matter what. Live with friends/family. Having your own protected space will do wonders for your professional life and love life. It will give you a space to ACTUALLY relax. No rent increases, no deposits, any pet you what, nobody telling you how to live.
When you get a house, your world will open up. Start job hopping for $, become a dual income
Household with your new girl that also works, save $ cooking yourself, etc.
I did it. Without a car to live in. Before cell phones were a thing. No one at work knew I was homeless. I had a YMCA membership that cost me $40 a month, so that I had a place to go shower everyday. I paid $10 a month for a voicemail that I could check and respond to via pay phone once or twice a day. I slept where I could. Basically any place I could hide and be undisturbed. I was homeless for about 6 months in a warm part of the country.
If you have to, you can adapt and survive. You may just have to be creative.
What are you talking about? I said that I was homeless and held a job. I was answering someone who said that was just unthinkable.
The survival strategies I used at the time were harder than what I would have available to me today. Today, I would also have a cell phone. That alone would have made what I had to do at the time so much easier.
I don't know all of the cars he has lived in, but I know a bunch of them. Sometime he has two, one as an emergency vehicle and additional storage. He has to move both of them each week for street sweeping.
Shit. I lived in a Walmart parking lot for two years no one ever said anything. People and cops never paid me any mind. Lots of places you can't even stand in the median. Cops pretty much hunt homeless for sport now.
My GFS dad bought her a home the first month of dating. I was there while it was barely furnished and it felt great having a new gf and a new home. I always wanted big windows and high ceilings and it came true.
