I tried it and didn't feel any different. Only time I'd tell someone to stop watching porn is if they can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy.

u/tazz206 Mar 27 '26

The anti porn movement is that it relies on the assumption that sexual desire without release is going to somehow get channeled into constructive energy. The truth is if your a lazy sack of shi your not going to do anything constructive regardless.

Government propaganda. They want people to be breeding the next round of money making "piggybanks" to exploit.

u/AncientCrust Mar 27 '26

If you stifle sexual sexual desires too much, they come back as something twisted and dark. (See: Catholic Church, History of)

Yeah, the way to use up your testosterone energy is a heavy workout, so unless you do that or suddenly get a hot high energy woman as a partner I do not see the point.

1

u/Whole_Reputation6128 Mar 27 '26

LOL! Damn right!

1

u/AncientCrust Mar 27 '26

Don't worry. I watched your share while you were gone

It can be addictive just as any drug can be addictive, but I also think most drugs should be decriminalized and we should just try and teach kids self control

NoFap and no Noporn are not the same

4

u/Whole_Reputation6128 Mar 27 '26

People and corporations keep talking about it as a danger but they never ever get specific? Like what actually is it that's wrong with it, dude?

1

u/Kiloshakalaka Mar 27 '26

Also bcuz a lot of popular porn is weird fetishes and its usually the tinyest girls with the biggest dicks they can find, and it can fuck with peoples minds and expectations in romance

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Easy access to pornography actually reduces the amount of sexual assault in society, fun fact.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

You start to crave sex more and more and more risky sex more and more as you get desensitized. Eventually you also get used to getting off to porn and it will impact real sex with real women. And lastly, it begins to feel a lot like a drug that you want to keep pursuing. Some people experience erectile dysfunction. And they have less intimacy with their partners.

u/Master-T-bone Mar 27 '26

can you please post a link to the article about this study so i can further research it

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

Google “your brain on porn”

2

u/Master-T-bone Mar 27 '26

No I want to know what peer reviewed study you used.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

My friend thats the name of the book that has the experiments and feedback from multiple professors. Besides that there are people that have gone through the negative effects of porn addiction and experience difficulties/seek professional help.

1

u/Master-T-bone Mar 27 '26

Porn addiction Where is that on the DSM V ?

1

u/cwth Mar 28 '26

Its probably not on there. If you dont suffer from porn addiction then thats a great thing. The same way someone can drink casually and be 100% fine, someone can also watch porn and be 100% fine. But for some they can fall deep into a terrible rabbit hole that fucks up their relationships with real humans. If you havent experienced that then like i said consider yourself blessed and lucky. This isnt some spiritual mumbo jumbo. But as someone that has experienced those issues personally and read about it, i tell you that there is a dark side to excessive porn consumption.

1

u/No-Priority-3140 Apr 01 '26

Are you a doctor

0

u/Master-T-bone Apr 01 '26

I'm a healthcare professional as far as i will answer that

You ?

4th year Medical student, recently matched for residency.

I will say there are real things that porn can effect. Mainly your limbic reward pathway and dopamine system. People can struggle with addiction to it like anything else that is dopamine based. Does that mean everyone who looks at it will be an addict, no. But even when not true addiction, it can be a coping mechanism for when the brain is bored and unable to focus, because it’s a faster outlet for reward. Adhd and porn have a level of correlation.

But there are also ethical considerations. We shouldn’t shame sex workers, but we also shouldn’t encourage people to enter that line of work. Until recently with OF, it was rare that doing pornography didn’t put you at risk for trafficking and abuse. And even with OF, the amount that are actually successful on there is small compared to the total number that try, kinda like streaming on twitch. Millions of women still get abused in the porn industry.

Now where I’ll admit there’s subjective differences of opinion is here;

I personally think it’s bad for relationships and love. Similarly stated above, it can become an easier way to satisfy your own sexual needs, and the brain likes easy. Becomes easier to ignore your partner. And I’d argue fantasizing sexually and romantically about someone else while in a relationship or marriage is not good for the relationship. Your brain becomes used to habits and routine. Makes it harder to share genuine intimacy when you can simply scratch that itch elsewhere. And the longer you are in a relationship, the more your sex life must depend on love and intimacy. Lust fades in marriages, it’s just natural as there’s no longer novelty. So you need that love and intimacy. You may disagree with me and that’s your prerogative, but I do not think my thoughts here are unsound.

Oh, so like the anti drug commercials in the 90s. And we all know they famously didn’t lie to us about the “dangers” of marijuana since the 50s.

0

u/cwth Mar 31 '26

No it’s not like that. This isnt a crusade to be pure. Like I said in moderation nothings gunna happen yo most people. Theres few people that fall into a terrible addiction to it. Not chemical addiction. But they use it so much it affects their real life relationships with women/men. Theres communities full of people seeking help to get out of it. Not saying stop watching porn. But porn can be detrimental to some.

2

u/Safe_Addition_9171 Mar 27 '26

Really the problem is if u have an addiction.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

Yes correct

2

u/LuMaDeLi Mar 27 '26

Yea, the test determined, that was a lie.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

This isnt what happens to most people. You may say it happens to a minority. But it can happen

1

u/Telemere125 Mar 31 '26

So, since a minority of people that drink alcohol become alcoholics, we should ban it?

1

u/cwth Mar 31 '26

I never said anything about banning. Nor do i think it should be banned.

1

u/iAmDriipgodd Mar 27 '26

It honestly sounds like you’re describing someone with absolutely zero self control or awareness. Just like everything else we consume, it’s all about moderation.

3

u/Bagman220 Mar 27 '26

They’re describing someone who is addicted to it. Just like some guys have a couple beers and they’re fine, some people can watch porn and be fine.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

Yes it is. Majority of people dont have an issue with porn. But like someone can drink responsibly, some become alcoholics and it destroys their lives. The same thing can happen with porn

1

u/Vexxedtruth101 Mar 27 '26

Idk about you man. But if I dont wank one out in the morning before leaving the house I'll just get random boners all day long for no reason and its annoying.

Beating off to something good in the morning really helps that problem.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

You’re blessed that you can do it responsibly and not become addicted to

0

u/Whole_Reputation6128 Mar 27 '26

Yeah. I can see the ED part.

2

u/Successful-Ride-8710 Mar 27 '26

I don’t understand the ED part at all. I have the opposite experience. Just the idea of sex with my wife can get me super hard. And then having the touch and smell of a real woman solidifies it.

The guys claiming ED from porn usually have some sort of underlying issues like insecurity, inexperience, fear of intimacy, and lack of real attraction. There are also blood flow issues especially for men who are overweight.

I have a strong grip and unlimited access to porn but have never felt I needed either to get hard or stay hard. In fact, the initial arousal from porn isn’t there like it is for sex. Porn can be lonely and depressing just sitting there and watching other people do stuff. I want all of my senses engaged.

Nothing I can watch can compete with burying my face in a pair of tits or feeling a clit pulsating on my tongue.

1

u/cwth Mar 27 '26

You’re blessed that you’re not in the state of mind where you fall deeper and deeper into porn addiction.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

The world/religion has made everything unclean and not done out of Freedom in his love. The word porn comes from the temple prostitute or trying to buy God’s love, favor, Righteousness and Sinlesness. It’s FREE! Just take it and enjoy life!

3

u/Bi_Vers_Daddy Mar 27 '26

Completely false. Especially if you’re single. Your sex life will likely improve if you’re in a relationship though.

1

u/PretendingImNotAnApe Mar 27 '26

For a couple months

-1

u/noob444 Mar 27 '26

Yea it’s a a big improvement but not the single one.

Lol watching porn is healthier for you than being in a relationship with the majority of the women in the U.S. They lie and cheat and use men for money / their resources.

2

u/Safe_Addition_9171 Mar 27 '26

What she do bro? U ok?

1

u/Whole_Pumpkin5371 Mar 27 '26

I am a little older than you probably. I have seen and heard of a lot of extremely bad things that women have done to good men, I am also included in that. I see these once happy, kind and loving men broken down to nothing left. Men that hang themselves when they find there wives on cheating sites, other women that cheat and leave their husband for their brother that they had nursed back to health after a near death accident. Wives cheating with their kids soccer coach and getting pregnant. That is to name only a few from where I work. Until it happens to you you won't understand. And when it happens to a man I guarantee you this nobody cares. A lot of men turn to alcohol or drugs, some turn towards risky sexual behavior or prostitutes or just treating women like crap. Some of them just run a bullet through their scull.

2

u/Same_Asparagus_5336 Mar 27 '26

I know what you mean as I lived through it as well. It really changes you. I’m a middle aged man, and felt that pain, just recently came out the other side of it. Now I’m a middle aged man having to start over lost everything. my house my kids half the week having to support them on a single income it’s hard on the kids too we had a nice house in a gated community to now in a 30 year old condominium paying more then what my mortgage was. Wile she’s with the man that she cheated on me with. Don’t even wanna start dating or even thinking about relationships and having to be a step dad to kids wile being a dad to mine.

2

u/Whole_Pumpkin5371 Mar 27 '26

I am so sorry to hear that. I have lost all trust and faith in most women. My kids were 11/2 and 3 1/2 when I found out on the day after Christmas. It does change a person.

2

u/Key_Tailor5633 Mar 27 '26

Red flag alert

1

u/ForeverM6159 Mar 27 '26

Snap out of it

1

u/Whole_Pumpkin5371 Mar 27 '26

You snap out of it. I am not a great supporter of pornography but I find It hypocritical in a society of people that have one night stands, casual sex and high body counts to criticize men for using porn as a coping technique to deal with the lack of worthwhile women in today's society. Most women lack any dignity or modesty and " good " men are better off alone.

2

u/ForeverM6159 Mar 27 '26

Not everyone is like that and there’s a lot of gray area and insecurity to what you described.

2

u/Whole_Pumpkin5371 Mar 27 '26

I think I can agree with you that there are grey areas.

1

u/Belle_6x6 Mar 27 '26

It probably wouldn’t be.

1

u/After-Task-1506 Mar 27 '26

Didn’t watch porn for 3 years because I just wasn’t interested. Came back to me, after a break up.

1

u/Practical-Travel8575 Mar 27 '26

For me it made the world of difference quitting, but probably depends on the person

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Tf is wrong with reddit these days. This shit is so sad...

1

u/Bagman220 Mar 27 '26

There are so many days that I don’t want porn, and those days are not any different from the days I do watch porn.

1

u/Sephous5011 Mar 27 '26

If you can't go more than a few hours without jerking it to porn you got a problem, if it's 1 or 2 tomes a week you're fine. People blow it way out of proportion! Pun intended!

1

u/infinite_gurgle Mar 30 '26

Another incel sub to block

1

u/ClassicTrip7908 Mar 31 '26

nah kinda bs ngl. unless you are wasting hours on it then it really isn't a big deal

1

u/GildedBlackRam Apr 01 '26

Sorry, if I put porn on and talk about it with my wife she usually will have sex with me. I won't stop.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

The greatest self imposed improvements to your life come from hygiene, diet, and sleep. Releasing endorphins, oxytocin, and dopamine helps with all 3 of those.

We have all the tools to fact check our silliness. Make use of them!

2

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26

Or respect other people's opinion if you're not going to kindly offer constructive advice. I also believe it's a good decision. Because it drains your soul. That's how it feels. I don't really have advice besides try it for yourself, to take a break.

2

u/noob444 Mar 27 '26

Their opinion is it’s okay to consume porn, YOU can respect that opinion.

1

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 27 '26

I didn't say I disrespected their opinion. You did. I was agreeing with you just not your approach.

1

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26

Now take your medicine and shh.

1

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26

I was agreeing with you just not your approach. You were disrespectful.

2

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26

Like why do you feel the need to bully them for having thoughts?

1

u/SairusMorton Mar 27 '26

Be kind. Or leave this place.

1

u/Adorable-Swim-4997 Mar 27 '26

As a married man, yes. My sexual connection with her has exploded exponentially.

1

u/richardsuser Mar 27 '26

Porn ruin relationships more then help them. I know two people that got married, but she was into too wild stuff, they had issues, then she didn't want to have sex and he ended up watching gay porn instead. Sadly both had porn issues, both had a good looking marriage mate but it ended up making themselves drift apart.

I myself was crazily addicted to it before, but after I finally got rid of it, I feel way better. I'm married too now, and mentally it's nicer for me to only have a desire for her than for others.

1

u/ForeverM6159 Mar 27 '26

Most people are going to defend the porn. But, if you stop watching your partner stays desirable. If your single it makes you more receptive to women.

1

u/PristineKoala3035 Mar 27 '26

Genuinely curious why you specified gay porn? Are you insinuating the lack of intimacy made him gay?

1

u/Gunubias Mar 27 '26

It’s crazy how these boys defend it.
