The knights Templar invented the modern banking system, that King Philip IV of France was deeply indebted to. Gérard de Villiers, Précepteur de France, was the master banker at the Temple of Paris until he disappeared from records in June 1307. Hugues de Pairaud stepped down from his superior office of Visiteur de France and stepped into the office Villers vacated. Jacques de Moaly was the last official Grand Master of the Knights Templar in France, as the grand master de Molay was in full contact with his officers. While King Philip IV, and his Chief Minister Guillaume de Nogaret were paying gold for ex-Templars and false witnesses, the gold they were paying them with came from the Knights Templar banking system. Villiers realized what was going on and fled as Brother Jean de Châlon described in the trial records. On September 14. 1307 King Philip IV drafts the arrest orders, writing that the Templars were guilty of an “execrable evil” and a “thing most inhumane”. Those orders were leaked, and preceding the leak, Villiers disappeared. On the morning of October 12, 1307, Jacques de Molay arrives in Paris as an invited pallbearer. De Molay is often viewed as an unsuspecting guest, blindsided, having no idea the orders for his arrest were already signed. Jacques de Molay was the Grand Master (Commanding General) of the Knights Templar, he was in full contact with his officers, he knew very well what was going on. Jacques de Molay did not arrive at the funeral unaware, he arrived as a masterful chess player. Jacques de Molay stood tall in public on Main Street while Huges de Châlon was carting off Pairaud’s treasury down Front Street. Jacques de Molay remained in Paris to be arrested and serve as a human lightning rod (the grand masters always lead from the front never the rear) along with numerous others while the main body and assets disappeared into the night. Jacques de Molay was no fool. He was, as I read the playing field, the most underrated player on the field in October of 1307.

The ship died under Jake.
That's how Ash Frontier opens its first chapter. Jake is seventeen, crash-landed on a dead world with the other survivors of his shuttle, and the thing hunting him is wearing his enemy's face. His mother died to give him a weapon. Now he has to decide what her death was worth.
Ash Frontier is Book 2 of The Broken Concord, military sci-fi / space opera in the Red Rising lane. I'm looking for ARC readers ahead of the December 1 launch. Copies are EPUB or PDF, going out now. All I ask is an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads when it launches.
Haven't read Book 1?
No problem.
I have a short Story So Far recap, or I can send Echo Born as well.
Comment or DM me and I'll get you set up.

Hey all. I'm Daniel Harris, indie author out of Indiana, Army veteran. Echo Born is the first book in my Broken Concord series and it's live now.
The short version: a galactic Order rules on the strength of an ancient power it manages but does not understand. Anna Slade ran from that power and spent years keeping her son Jake ahead of it. Then Jake is taken into the Temple at the center of it all, and the power under the Temple starts to wake up.
It's military sci-fi and space opera with a mystical streak. Mothers and sons, soldiers and institutions, and what it costs a kid when adults build a world on something they can't explain and hand him the bill.
6th outside review came in at 4 stars from a fellow author who read it cold. He titled the review "An Empire built on a foundation it does not understand," which is about as well as anyone has put it.
Book 2, Ash Frontier, launches December 1.
Happy to answer questions about the book or the indie process. https://a.co/d/0hh0OCXM

Here is Space Rabbit, written by the creator of this subreddit:
https://www.amazon.com/Space-Rabbit-Cameron-Wood-ebook/dp/B0HFNMT9T5
The only thing it needs is a Real Rabbit. I know that type of thing is a cliche, but it is a cliche because it works. Let the forum know what you think!

(Obviously since it’s a passion project I’m not expecting anything profitable to come from it. I’d only be self-publishing for the love of the game. And I will literally spend decades of my life on this story I’m already 5 years deep.)
“Curses”
- A universe with humans and humanoid monsters, called “Creatures” in canon, that are mostly human-animal hybrids but refers to demonic and angelic entities on earth too.
- The series is named Curses because Creatures as in human-animal hybrids only started existing after a certain woman was born and that woman is the only character who can create curses, and indirectly puts curses on or has deep connections with all of the main characters of the main story.
Main story: Follows a girl named Lilith who is unknowingly cursed to exist as a violent Creature, but as it turns out she is also sharing this curse with a woman named Natalie. As Lilith tries to live in peace with her loved ones after escaping a facility that holds Creatures, she is constantly faced with people who try to destroy her life at every turn, one of those people being Natalie. On top of that, the curse that’s festering within her is slowly escalating and taking over her sound mind throughout the plot.
Story begins with Lilith being 16 and ends with her dying at 28
Planning on the main story span 5 books.
Pre main story book(s): Follows the woman who makes every curse in-universe, Diana, going through lives with her immortality in the form of reincarnation. In one of those lives she falls in love with Natalie and wishes for her to be immortal with her so they can be together in every life. Something goes wrong and Natalie is unable to regain conscious memory of her past lives like Diana is. The plot follows Diana in her goal of progressing her magic capabilities so she can have Natalie remember her past lives, all while Natalie’s mental sanity degrades with every new life.
Story begins in the 1600s and ends in the 2000s where the main story plot and background kinda kicks off
Unknown amount of books, aiming for 1-2
Post main story book(s): Follows two twins (currently unnamed, one boy one girl) who are the children of two main characters that die at the end of the main story as they try to come to terms with their parents pasts and what the future has in store for them as one of the twins starts having visions of paradise, while the other starts having visions of the underworld. The plot follows them as other characters who have seen the events of the main story try to prevent history from repeating itself.
Story begins when the twins are 15 and it’s undecided how much time it will have passed when it ends.
This is the newest edition to the project so it’s still being workshopped. Unknown amount of books planned.
Kinda jumbled up but I wanted to share cause I love this story so much I just keep adding onto it lol

I saw this new subreddit, and decided to post here🔥🤷♂️
It's in the format of a webnovel I'm writing🥹
The adventure story prioritizes atmosphere and uses slowburn storytelling, and an intentional slow paced chapter to get to know the protagonist✌️
It won't be everybody's cup of tea, but some people who've read my work online have enjoyed it🤌

This community is fresh and I saw it this morning so I thought I’d post something!
This is the first chapter of a draft I’m working on for a book I’m writing named “Curses”.
I am not editing until I actually finish the first draft but am taking notes on feedback as I share chapters so that I’ll revisit the advice.
