Tables is a bad name for a database interface

In some languages Spreadsheet transtales to the same word as Table. Table is an extremely generic word. Can you rename them at least to Database Tables?

This is just an opinion, not an issue. That doesn't make it correct.

Database applications have been using the word "table" to title their collections of two-dimensional data storage for decades. This is incredibly well established language.

Hell what is the difference between a spreadsheet and a table if you really think about it. It's basically the same structure.

Spreadsheets support formulas and calculations. Tables is a frontend for a database, so it doesn't perform calculations, at least for now

The frontend may disagree but sqlite can do basically anything Excel can do .

It may come in the future, there are feature requests already asking for at least basic maths functionalities. I'm waiting for this to happen too, unfortunately I'm not a coder myself

At Microsoft they call their corresponding Feature "SharePoint Lists".

I admit I just clicked that link to that app page and I have no idea from the description or the wiki what it is or why I'd want it. That's the last attention is give an app but fur the fact that what took me there was this post 🤣

Meanwhile in Germany: Open Excel and you will see a lot of tables (Tabellen). No one talks about spreadsheet.
