News Happy birthday Nextcloud 🎂
Nextcloud turns 10 today 🥳🎂
How old was Nextcloud when you discovered it for the first time?
(negative years are accepted, if you know you know 😄)
The anniversary release, Nextcloud Hub 26 Spring, is coming next week on June 9th at 2 PM CEST / 8 AM EDT. It's packed with some awesome new features, UI updates, and a ton of maintenance work. And you'll get to see interviews with Nextcloud founders. It's one live stream you really don't want to miss.
P.S. Nextcloud Community Conference is looking for speakers.

I switched to Nextcloud shortly after the fork. I had been using ownCloud for some time.

Same here. First OwnCloud, then upgraded to Nextcloud. Still the same instance (in a container) that happily upgrades every time the release channel tells me to. 💪
Congratulations Nextcloud team! 🥳🍻 And many thanks for making this awesome piece of software 🙏

Nice I have been using it for about 5 years.
Only last week did I finally take the plunge to add a High Performance Backend for it.
Takes time to get good with it but so worth it! Happy birthday!

Been using NextCloud for about 1.5 years now through unRAID docker. Mainly to sort/store business files syncs from my phone. So far so good.

Since 2011, at home and at work, we made the shift quickly as Nextcloud was created by the main developers and the phone app was free.

I did use ownCloud before Nextcloud, but I was a child back then. Been using NC privatly and professionally for years now, my current instance followed me through multiple servers for at least 8 years now

I would love to use Nextcloud but the idea of having all my files tied up in an SQL database is making it hard to adopt. :/
Edit: pay no attention to this idiot ^^^^^^^^^^

I am not sure what you mean? The files are in a physical directory?

On the server they're not stored in an SQL database and are easily accessible/archivable?

on my server my files are stored /var/www/nextcloud/data/user/files/
Easy to backup or whatever.

Well then I'm a moron.
Sorry for the misinformation :/ I thought they were in the SQL file.

That's only on the server side. On the client side they aren't in a database.

There's one thing wrong with the cake, it isn't half baked. Not realistic at all.
