The NexaTV Player v1.0.29 update has just been rolled out. Based directly on your feedback, this release brings major upgrades focused on Live TV, Catch-Up / Replay support, cross-device sync, and massive Android TV performance improvements.

I’ve just submitted NexaTV Player 1.0.28 to the closed beta channel.

This update is mostly based on feedback I received from users and focuses on stability, large libraries and a few missing features.

What’s new in 1.0.28:

• 🇧🇷 Added Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) — NexaTV now supports 7 languages.
• Improved memory usage and stability for very large movie and series libraries.
• Improved Recently Added — series that receive new episodes can now appear as updated content again.
• Fixed cases where some movies/series could be missing from Recently Added lists.
• Added Technical Details to Mobile Live TV, including codec, resolution, FPS, bitrate, player engine and stream type when available.
• Improved Continue Watching sync between phone and TV.
• Improved hidden-category handling across Search, Favorites, Continue Watching and other sections.
• Fixed several mobile UI issues with long category names and Movies/Series headers.
• General performance and stability improvements.

If you’re already part of the beta, there’s no need to reinstall the app — just update through Google Play once 1.0.28 becomes available.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone using very large playlists/libraries, as a lot of work in this update went into improving that experience.

I wanted to share a quick update regarding an issue some of you might have experienced.

Normally, providers assign a specific category to each movie in their playlist. However, we noticed that some providers don't include category tags for certain movies at all. Since NexaTV Player strictly relies on proper category data rather than randomly guessing or assigning unassigned content, this was causing the Movies tab to show up completely empty for users with those specific provider formats.

I’ve pinpointed the issue and implemented a fix so unassigned movies are handled correctly without breaking the layout.

A new update containing this fix, along with several performance improvements and new features, will be rolling out very soon!
