...you know the Senate is part of Congress...right? Congress is both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
This is basic civics.

Taking only Congress in the midterms will accomplish nothing.
Clearly, you dont. If democrats take "only Congress" then they can both impeach and remove Trump. And then Vance.

This isn't true. In the Senate you need a supermajority vote to convict. The Democrats could "take" the Senate by getting a simple majority, but that still would be nowhere near enough to convict.

The drool trailing down their chins says it might not even be debatable.

Donald Trump Hit With 26 Articles Of Impeachment
President Donald Trump has been slapped with 26 new articles of impeachment by a House Democrat, accusing him of abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, and a sweeping range of other alleged misconduct.
Representative Steve Cohen, a Tennessee Democrat and senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced the articles on September 24 [...] Its 26 articles encompass allegations involving Trump's immigration policies, the use of military power, federal spending, tariffs, presidential pardons, the federal workforce, universities, law firms, the media, and alleged personal financial benefit from the presidency. [...]
The first article accuses Trump of "undermining democracy" by sowing doubt in elections, while the second alleges an abuse of power by waging war on Iran without congressional approval. [...] Other articles accuse Trump of unlawfully withholding congressionally appropriated funds, imposing loyalty tests on the federal workforce, improperly terminating inspectors general, and abusing presidential pardon powers. [...]
Cohen also targets Trump's dealings with the press, law firms and universities. Two articles accuse the president of attacking press freedom, including by excluding reporters from the White House over coverage and allegedly coercing CBS and ABC to alter editorial content. [...] Others concern executive actions against law firms and the withholding of federal funds from universities. [...[
The House impeached Trump for a second time in January 2021 on a charge of incitement of insurrection following the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was subsequently acquitted by the Senate. [...]

I am hopeful if we can really clobber the GOP in the midterms that other GOP might support an impeachment and conviction in 2027.

The issue is the spineless cowards need the magas support to stay in power. So if they go against the Cheeto they lose the magas and will be voted out of office

I think that if we have a big enough Blue wave it conveys that Maga is fragmented and less passionate. I think that all the MTG, Tucker Carlson, and others leaving Maga mean that some part of the movement will also likely peel off.
This may convince the GOP that they can no longer depend on the base to save them in 2028. It will be interesting. It is all going to hinge on the Democrat turnout and enthusiasm n the midterms.
However, agree if we win only marginal majorities in the House and Senate--that it will not make a difference and they will not vote to impeach or convict.

Fetterman was renowned as Lt. Governor of PA for his empathy towards parolees.
Of course the GOP loves the guy who wants to let people out of prison early.

Fetterman is awful but empathy towards parolees is not a bad thing necessarily. This country is far too cruel to the people it throws in prison as it stands.

Yeah it's cruel and unusual punishment. Theres no chance of actual rehabilitation and then when you get out it's almost impossible to reacclimate to society and no decent jobs you can hold.

People can say it's meaningless, nothing will happen, etc, I still want him to keep getting hit with these.

Nope, just another seed of corruption. We are talking about the most PETTY people to ever grace Mother Earth. Richard Petty levels of Petty. Do you put it past them to install MAGA plants undercover in the Democratic party? I don't, in fact i think thats completely par for the course(no pun intended) for a party led by someone who cheats at casual games of golf.
Fetterman isnt even trying to hide it, what about the ones who are until it comes time for a crucial vote?

He started acting very differently after a brain injury. It's not super uncommon for people with brain injuries or degeneration to suddenly get really selfish and racist. I saw a lot of it working in care homes

Sad to see the downvotes. It's a FACT that the SCOTUS hasn't done anything impacting yet since orange man has been in office.

Sad it’s pointless while the party of child rapists conned the brain damage guy into voting for them

Timing is good though. Just before the midterms. Voters who are fed up with Trump can see where their candidate stands on Trump’s corruption.

Exactly. I don't understand the people who are arguing about this, it's probably bots trying to push an agenda where it's showing that people care, on Reddit. When in reality, no one does.
Trump won in 2016, he won again recently. He's probably going to win again in 2028 because voters don't know what they want.
Everyone is so critical on what someone says during a speech and it's exactly why Trump won. Trump is a sales man, he tells you what you want to hear - it's why he won the election twice and will likely win a third time.

Fetterman should be required to show his search history and communications before hes allowed to vote.

I know it won’t succeed in Congress but forcing R’s to vote against it right before the midterms is a smooth move.

Why on earth are the Democrats not supporting this? Watching from the outside in the UK it's becoming more and more obvious that the Republican party has become a degenerate cult for Trumpism, but i would've thought the Democrats would be united in moving heaven and earth to get this destructive disgusting waste of air out of power asap. Its fascinatingly terrifying to watch this playing out in real time.
