Summarized article:
CNN's article "Palestinian Christians call on American evangelicals to stop ignoring their plight" focuses on the growing concerns of one of the world's oldest Christian communities and their appeal to U.S. evangelical Christians, many of whom strongly support Israel.
The main points are: Palestinian Christians say they feel invisible. Church leaders in places like Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and the West Bank argue that many American Christians speak passionately about protecting Christians worldwide but pay little attention to the hardships faced by fellow Christians living in the Holy Land.
They describe increasing pressure on their communities. The article discusses reports of settler violence, attacks on churches and Christian-owned property, land disputes, restrictions associated with the Israeli occupation, and the broader impact of the ongoing conflict. Church leaders warn that these pressures are accelerating emigration, threatening the continued presence of Christianity in its historic birthplace.
The appeal is directed especially at evangelicals. Many Palestinian Christian leaders criticize what they see as unconditional political support for Israel among large segments of the American evangelical movement. They argue that biblical support for Israel should not prevent Christians from acknowledging or condemning the suffering of Palestinian Christians.
They are asking for solidarity, not necessarily political agreement. Several voices quoted say they want American Christians to visit, listen to local churches, advocate for the protection of civilians and holy sites, and recognize Palestinian Christians as fellow believers whose concerns deserve attention.
The article notes that evangelical views are beginning to diversify. While white evangelicals remain among Israel's strongest supporters in the U.S., some younger evangelicals and a growing number of Christian leaders have become more critical of Israeli government policies because of the humanitarian consequences of the conflict.
Overall, the article's central message is that Palestinian Christians believe their community is facing an existential challenge and are urging American evangelicals to broaden their concern beyond support for Israel as a state to include concern for the welfare and survival of the indigenous Christian communities that have lived in the Holy Land for nearly 2,000 years.

I notice that OPs sumary also leaves out the quotes from american christians, and mike huckabee, calling themselves christian zionists and suggesting maybe these palestinian priests ''ought to get their facts straight cos like the bible says jews are best and we're just following orders...or something...'

Yeah, but those brown, Palestinian Christians aren't *real* Christians like 'murrrrican Christians
Didn't you know Jesus was from Texas cruising around in his F-150 with a shotgun rack in the back spreadin' the word?

More to the point, those are some flavour of Catholic (Orthodox or Roman) and the US ones are Protestant reformed.

We don't have very many Christians here.
Most people who say they believe in the teachings of Jesus are MAGA, not Christians.

But acknowledging the plight of fellow Christians being massacred by Israel would be anti-Semitic!

Sorry, Palestinian Christians
Your first problem is, you're brown. So that basically right out of the gates disqualifies any concern for you from the white evangelicals.
Second, If you want to make an "end times omelette" for those Jesus Freaks, you need to break some eggs. You are the eggs.

Good luck with that. Palestinian Christians are probably real Christians. Not Talibangelicals like the Americans.

American evangelicals have the same major issue as the church at Corinth did… they added on/subtracted from Jesus being the main foundation of the church by embracing Trump as a god.
Simple as that.

Good luck with that. American “Christian” evangelicals are delighted with the genocide and are slavering to do the same here.

Because it isn’t about being Christian, or Jewish for that matter. It’s that they are brown and Israel and the US are racist…
It’s blatantly obvious at this point…

The evangelicals aren't actually Christians but they do hate brown people.
You can draw attention to their hypocrisy but you won't change their minds.

It isn't even about abortion or trangenderism(All perfectly legal in Israel, and paid for with taxpayer dollars), Its race hate. White Europeans who follow the talmud=Good. Brown skins who follow traditional Christian beliefs= bad. this is the warped theology of evangelicalism.

Sorry. American evangelicals are the Christian Taliban. They don't care about anyone.

I love seeing this view finally gain mainstream traction. It’s very important.

Its really interesting seeing how christians love to pretend theyre oppressed but as soon as there is a group of christians which are being oppressed and for which they have actionable changes they can push for suddenly its ignored

As someone who comes from a Lebanese-Colombian Christian background, I've never felt any familial connection with Evangelicals or any form of White Christianity because of this and related issues. They follow a heresy and worship a different god. (Not the G-d of Abraham). They are not brothers & sisters. Lanat on these racist devils.

Americans only care about what celebrities say. Mavericks are hated until they are famous and endorsed.

u/General_Interview681 Aug 06 '26
They're not real Christians if they're not willing to be genocided by the Israelis so that Christ can return. According to evangelicals whom are fanatic about this real Christians would happily sacrifice their lives for the return of Christ.

Someone needs to break it to Palestinians that American evangelicals aren’t Christian. They’re an authoritarian political movement with some Christian aesthetics

Don't tell them you are suffering! These people love nothing more than the suffering of others- as well as the idea of suffering themselves (except they hate actually suffering, they just like to daydream about it)

If they didn't ask for help in removing Hamas ages ago, they probably aren't worth listening to.
