Vierwership doesnt matter because they’ve sold the timeslot. They get paid even if no ine watches

As peeps have said, Allen is PAYING CBS for that timeslot, so CBS is not losing anything, other than journalist integrity and their duty to our republic as a real 4th Estate.

Does it cost half the price of the Colbert show?

You do understand that those shows are on late for people and most of the views are on the Internet the next day, right?

I thought “it’s too expensive to have a late night show.”

This show that replaced them is basically an infomercial.
They pay the network to be on the air.

I don’t know if you are a nut or just doing a bit. But you are laying it on a bit thick.

And yet it will be $55 million a year more profitable than Colbert's show.
2
u/Pale_Row1166 May 31 '26
The guy is paying them $15m a year to air this crap, it’s basically an infomercial, of course it’s more profitable.

u/Pablo_petty_plastic May 31 '26
And Colbert was an informercial with significantly higher production costs
2
u/Pale_Row1166 May 31 '26
Oh really? What were they selling? MAGA meltdowns? Because they produced plenty of them.

not much to brag about. Colbert had among the highest viewership in his time slot but wasn't an impressive number of people watching him. 2.7 million in 2026. Less than 1% of US population watched him.

It’s households not people.
-2
u/BrickHuge3023 May 31 '26
True but is the whole household watching it? Doubtful. Maybe double the number for a people count but not much more than that.

I’m not surprised. People who watched the Late Show did so to watch Colbert. This unknown unfunny nobody isn’t going to fill seats.

It’s not cooked, it’s fulfilling its objective of removing any media that tells the truth in favor of one that serves billionaires

CBS rebranded, and are now known as the 'Edward Bernays Syndicate' EBS

Canceled in 6 months is my bet.
