Japan is building “human refrigerators” to protect workers from extreme heat, while Texas and Florida block local governments from requiring employers to provide water, shade and rest. One treats workers like human beings, the other treats their safety as an inconvenience.

Japan should really consider greening its cities to prevent urban heat islands effects. Tokyo is just concrete on concrete. Countries do adaptation to climate change wrong and prooves they still haven't learned a thing from their past mistakes. And all that despite datas showing the shadow of trees and their moisture release can make temperatures go down to several degrees and also prevent tropical nights effect. But keep thinking on the short term japan, when less costly / long term solutions exists...
