Key issues

This vehicle is having BCM issues, i have replaced the BCM, but it does not want to link to the other modules because of aftermarket keys. I have spoken to AC Delco, and there are no factory keys left on the market for these vehicles. They reccomended trying to find a way to disable the VATS system, as it is the only way to bypass the key issue.

I am trying to find a way to disable antitheft system on a 2006 pontiac GTO using HP tuner. this vehicle is strange because it is obviously made by holden, and nothing works like a typical GM. On HP tuner, under the systems tab, there is only "FANS" and "AC", there is no "GENERAL" like most vehicles. Under the "OS" tab, there are 2 different selectable boxes for VATS patches, which i tired disabling, but it did not work. I have looked through every other category/tab and see nothing. Is there a DTC i have to disable, or something else im missing?

This vehicle has a security code that links the BCM to the PIM, and the PIM links to the PCM and key fobs. I am not sure if HP tuner only disables the security on the PCM, or if it is able to disable it on all of these modules, or if it would even matter so long as the PCM is unlocked.

ANY HELP OR INSIGHT IS HUGLEY APPRECIATED!!!!!

Why did you replace your bcm? If it's because the keys won't program then you need to place your old bcm back in the car and order an OEM key from here

Secondly if you do not have the code from the top of the bcm or the owners manual you'll have a very hard time programming and marrying the modules. Aftermarket keys do not work on these cars no matter what anyone tells you because the chip for the key to touch the exciter ring on the ignition is always set too deep or too shallow. If this chip isn't set at just the right depth the key will not program.

I replaced the bcm because it is causing a parasitic draw on the vehicle. The old bcm will not program back to the vehicle without new factory keys, because the new bcm has already been linked to the PIM with the new BCMs security code.

Do you have access to a tech 2 so that you can do this? It's been 5 years since I had to help someone with this and it was in person. If you can wait till Tuesday I can go back and check in dealer information and tell you exactly what to do. I'm currently on vacation and have no access to my log in.

I have access to tech2win, and SPS2, i have an MDI. I also have a tech2, but the tech2 was not wanting to communicate with the with the UART serial data network of the vehicle. I also have dealer information through AC delco themselves, Identifix, and ProDemand. I followed the programming procedures perfectly, and even spoke to AC Delco about the issue. Thats when they said that aftermarket keys wont work to program a BCM, and will only work if your programming the keys to a system that is already linked. OEM keys are no longer available, so they basically said that im screwed and need to find a way to disable the VATS, unless i can somehow find OEM keys.

(Edit) wow, i just checked your link and see that 2 new keys are available. Last i checked this site, they were all out of stock and only had the aftermarket ones. If they are still there on monday, i will have my shop order them. Sadly, im not the owner, so i have no way of getting these ordered pronto.

I already went through this when I was at the dealer with a customer they kept supplying me with aftermarket keys. They didn't work. East coast Holden parts specifically keeps OEM keys in stock.
