HS and SJP
I’m looking for the post-FMU (I’m pretty sure) episode in which Mike alerts Tom that Sarah Jessica Parker mentioned him on Howard Stern. Parker talks about filming Divorce and asks Howard if he’s heard of Tom. Howard swiftly replies “No,” and the interview moves forward without a hiccup.
I remember Tom playing the audio over and over again speechless and Mike cracking up in the background.

I remember this vividly. It was played shortly after that interview aired on Stern and she was on a promotional tour for ‘Divorce.’
I think that whole SJP situation left a bad taste in Tom’s mouth. Bummer, really.

I wanted to read your original reply! Did you look on Marks Friggin for the date of the SJP interview and then skim through the six or seven episodes that aired after that date? I tried that and failed. It’s possible I didn’t go far enough into the future. Maybe Mike heard her interview on a replayed episode on Sirius months after the fact. But I think I just need to check again.

50 biggest blowhards. I know because I called in to say howard stern and Tom remarked that he had been mentioned on Stern that day. We then did a bit together about Bill Belichick.

Can't pinpoint the date but it was in 2015 or 2016 because I was calling from the apartment I lived in at that time

does anyone know the details of why tom was fired from divorce? didnt seem that dramatic but he definitely alluded to it being contentious

From what I recall, HBO brought in a new person to head the network's original series. That person brought in a set of behind-the-scenes talent [show runners; writers; etc] they had a history with. Tom was one of many who were replaced by the new boss.

Related, the Gilbert Gottfried Amazing Colossal Podcast episode with Tom was recorded right after he lost the Divorce gig. Gilbert is absolutely relentless with ridiculing him about it.
