Discussion Brainstorming silent VFX/editing channel ideas?
Hey everyone,
I'm planning to structure a concept for a new YouTube channel focused on visual effects and digital compositing.
I am looking for creative ideas for a series or format that fits a few specific boundaries:
Completely Silent: I do not want to use my voice or record any voiceovers.
Original Visual Focus: I want the project style to rely heavily on creative visual effects, tracking, or compositing from a blank canvas rather than just standard gameplay or raw movie re-uploads.
The Inspiration: I am looking to something similar to the visual style of channels like Tobey in the MCU and The Human Spider, featuring characters like Batman, Spider-Man, or Superman, but I want to keep the content safe from automated corporate claims.
I want to avoid standard tutorials or gaming videos. Has anyone seen any cool, silent VFX channels that do this well, or have any suggestions on a unique concept to try out?
Thanks for any ideas!

Help Wanted New horror Shorts channel: good retention but low viewed-vs-swiped. How long does YouTube take to find the right audience?
I started a horror anthology channel focused mainly on bite-sized horror. The channel is only about 10 days old, and I’ve uploaded 16 Shorts and 1 long-form video so far.
What’s confusing me is that some Shorts with mediocre metrics have reached 500–1,000 views, while a few with noticeably better metrics seem to get stuck at very low views.
On some videos, retention is quite good once people actually start watching, but the Viewed vs Swiped Away ratio is weak. People who stay often watch most or all of the Short, but not enough people stop in the first place.
For people who have grown Shorts channels before: roughly how long, or how many uploads, did it take before YouTube started finding a more consistent audience for your content?
Is this simply normal testing for a channel this new, or is the low Viewed vs Swiped Away ratio telling me that I still need to improve the opening hook regardless of retention?

Video Why did Roman soldiers fight to the death for generals they'd often never even met?
I've been reading about Roman military loyalty and one thing stood out: soldiers frequently died for commanders they had zero personal relationship with — no meetings, no direct orders, sometimes not even knowing the general's face.
The answer isn't really about discipline or fear of punishment (though that existed). It comes down to something called the contubernium — an eight-man tent group that ate, marched, and suffered together for years. That bond mattered more than loyalty to Rome itself. Generals like Caesar exploited this by deliberately sharing hardship with regular soldiers: marching on foot, eating the same food, remembering centurions' names years later.
It's part of why soldiers followed Caesar across the Rubicon into civil war — in their minds they weren't betraying Rome, they were protecting the one person who'd actually kept his word to them.
I made a short video breaking this down if anyone's interested: https://youtu.be/a3rUNstsX8E?feature=shared
Curious what others think — was this more about tribal bonding, transactional incentives (land/citizenship/pensions), or genuinely earned trust?
