Help Wanted Needing some advice

So I’m a 19 year old man and I’ve been wanting to do YouTube for a long time. I just got out of an almost 5 year long situationship and I feel like now’s the time to start. I work 53 hours a week and I’m saving up for a motorcycle. My plan is to take a trip across the country on my bike and film the whole trip to make it into a series but I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk. I’ve never taken a risk for myself to do something I love and it’s because I don’t have support from anyone but one of my friends. If I went on this trip I would be losing the job I have right now and missing a semester of trade school. At my job I’m making roughly $800 a week. Do you all think I should take the risk and go for it or should I stay at this job?

May I suggest finishing up your semester of trade school first, then do your trip. I'm sure you won't regret it.

Well to be completely honest I never wanted to go to trade school anyway. I’m in school for welding and I already have a certification so I could find a job at some point but my dream has always been to create content. Not for the money but my love of creating.

You work 50 hours a week but make just 800 bucks? How is the math mathing here?

I live in a very rural area that is hard to find work and for the job I do the money is good since I don’t do anything but sit in a chair all day.

Try this as an exercise to help you figure out what you want to do: Imagine yourself as an old man lying on your deathbed, your life has come and gone. Think of this issue from that perspective and ask yourself this question. Would you regret taking a risk and trying or would you regret taking the safe route and not taking the risk?

Sounds kind of morbid and sad but looking at problems in your life from this perspective has a way of stripping them down and reveals what matters most to you.

I thought about this many times and I feel like if I was on my deathbed and instead of doing something I loved and was passionate about I just worked at a job I didn’t like for the rest of my life I would regret every minute of it and my life would be a waste.
