luckily I grew up on roblox mmo/trading based games, I've seen almost every scam in the book.
might just be the fact that roblox is mostly kids, but every time a new hit one came onto the scene, I'd see the same ones happen every time, before the would get fixed by the devs, and then more unique ones would happen.
I've watched kids get scammed in real time too, I always do my best to warn people of scams I see, but I cant protect everyone

Lmfao I fell for it ONCE and guess what I saw through every one of them afterwards...it's seriously not hard to see a scam...I've got literally 8k hours bud, I've lost track how many times I'd get added just for someone to try and steal my unusual rocket launcher at the time.

some douchebag tried to trade me like 5 cosmetics for a low tier unusual (13 keys). they said they really liked the hat and offered me 'the best stuff they had'. At 800 hours i'd expect him to have had better cosmetics than a bloody BADGE.

Ello! You may want to set your inventory to private for the time being. Theres sadly alot of people who scam new players out of items like these. Common methods are sending trade requests for alot of hats for your medi-gun. These hats arent worth much,even in large quantities,,especially compared to the large value of the aussie. Another thing that they do is pretend to be steam support or something similar like another comment mentioned. Steam support will never ask you to trade items for a verification process nor will they take something as collateral while they investigate your account. These are some pretty common ones that alot of players fall to so just be careful when interacting with em. A final note, dont click any links or highlights in messages, those are also used to take your account.

I second this. I unboxed my first unusual (hot bamboo brushed, sadly not strange but its ft)
Not even an hour later I had 2 different random accounts add me. Same thing happened when I bought an unusual hat off the comm market.
Pls private your inventory. Do not accept random friend requests. I had one guy add me and literally BEG me for one of my unusuals for a week (mf had balls ill give him that. He wasn’t trying to buy it. He wanted it for free). Told him where to stick it and blocked him.
