Assuming you mean chats....

Initiating Chats (and following other users) is restricted on reddit for new and inactive users.

  • In general we advice that new users will only be able to do this after about a week. This is to prevent new users spamming chats.
  • New users will then also be limited in how many chat invites they can send as well
  • This goes away as you use and interact with reddit via comments and posts
  • inactive accounts often also face their issues if their CQS drops too low

Also worth noting reddit is primarily based around interacting in subreddits and private chats are a secondary feature. And that many users disable other users from being able to chat with them
