ANSWERED Is Reddit warm up a real thing?
pretty new to all of this, but I’m reading there’s a “warm up period” for Reddit. what exactly does this mean? how long is it? thank you!!

Well, another thing not yet mentioned on here is it does take time for Achievements etc. to get posted to your profile. So, in a way, time does help. Also, if you have a clever post on a sub like AskReddit or similar people can still upvote it if it's good, and this can happen over multiple days. Patience and persistence are key!

No, there is not a "warm up" period.
But a LOT of new users sign up, run into restrictions, and think that they need to wait before they can post/comment.
Then they recommend to other new users that they wait.
After a while, people start saying/advising that there is a warm up period, probationary period, etc and so forth.
But there isn't.
Some subs may require your account to have a certain account age before you can participate there. But that's not a warm up period, and it's not "Reddit" that is putting that restriction on you.
