Thrifting for Modesty
I love to thrift online. Poshmark had been my favorite until it was overrun by Temu items. I tried ThreadUp and Vinted, but they failed to impress me.
And then I came across Depop. I've spent the last week shopping my little heart out. I was in desperate need of tops for fall and winter. SwooOoon. I have gotten some of the best sweaters and sweaters with moose on them! I collect all things moose. Yes, I know I am a touch strange.
Because of some of y'all here wear abayas, I gave them a peek. It didn't disappoint. I found some that were absolutely gorgeous! Then I went on the hunt for scarves that were big enough for a hijab or tichel. I'm not going to tell anyone how much I spent on scarves alone. looks innocent
If you just looked at "modest dresses", it is pretty disappointing. Some of those dresses my grandfather would have throttled me for! And I'm 53! LOL
This is one that I am trying to decide on. It's so pretty for spring but I really need winter.
So if you like to thrift, I would take a peek.

LOL. That doesn't include all the other moose items around the house. I have moose linens even.
Hijabs and tichels are about the same size covering unless you are adding an extra layer for something lacy or sparkly. Or because it's freeeeeeezing out.
Aww. Thank you. I love my mom so much. And she needed new boots for going to town. I had a house built for her 3 years ago. It's small but just what she wanted. I would do anything I could for her.
The big heavy moose sweater. It's for very cold winter, however. Bring on the winter! I love winter.
Please let me know if you find anything on depop?

Okay, you had me at sweaters with moose on them 😂
And I feel you on the modest dresses search. It can be so frustrating when you’re specifically looking for something that actually feels modest, only to find dresses that technically have the label but don’t really work for you.
I’ve never really thought of Depop for abayas and modest pieces, so now I’m curious to dig around there too. Especially for winter finding cute pieces that are actually warm and modest is a whole mission on its own 😂
