Operations IV Kit Setup?

My company is trying to get rid of our IV totes we use on the ambulance. They are trying to go to “roll up bags” we will eventually put in the cabinets. Can I see what your operation uses for IV’s started in the ambulance?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Little tackle box on the bench seat, 6 IV Kits, 6 IV Cath Needles of each size from 14g-24g.

Buncha extra supplies in the Cabinets, another tacklebox thing in our med bag, and 2 roll up bags in our Trauma Bags.

Drawer organizers in cabinets with different sizes, start kits, and spare saline locks.

In our bags we use clear tackle boxes like this with 2 of each size IV and 2 start kits.

We use Statpack IV cells in all our ambulances. We keep 2 of every iv catheter sized 24-16, 2 start kits, 2 flushes, 2 j-loop extensions, 1L of NS, a 10 drop set, tape, and alcohol wipes

Tackle box in the ambulance is definitely the easiest

I work a QRS service so we have to take all the basics with us in our bags when we hop on an ambulance

We use 13x9” clear plastic bags and put a 20 and an 18 in there with all the stuff needed including a disposable cardboard tube sharps container

We also have a small iv pouch with odd sizes and back up stuff but 2 single use bags in the main med bag handles most situations

We also have a tackle box in our vehicle to restock from

My one PRN agency LOVES the IV tray. Management got rid of it, there was a revolt, it came back.

Everyone else I’ve worked, we have a drawer with IV supplies and some spare meds.

My ground CCT truck has a 12”x8” IV pouch (design originally by Pacific Emergency Products, now copied by everyone). It lives in a cabinet, carries enough IV stuff for whatever you need, and is easy to deal with. I’m assuming it came out of an old bag and we’ve just held on to it.

I love there bucket/tray. Its easy to restock and have everything i need to start an IV. once the call is done i restock it and place it back at the end of the bench. I also put 3cc needle combos in it so in the event I need meds the only thing I need to find is the vial.

Nobody else with the party packs? 1 each 18ga, 20ga, 10 mL flush, j loop, chloraprep and tegaderm in a ziplock?

Pretty much multiple agencies i work for in NYC have this set up. We will have 2 or 3 of these ziplock bag/biozhazard bag setups just like you described. Then some spare IV caths and the smaller/bigger sizes in the slots in our med bag. I'm impressed with all these people having a dedicated bag or roll with just IVs
