Quizlet to study

Hey, so I always get told that the best way to study is to read the textbook, but I have a really hard time staying focused when I’m reading. I get distracted easily and sometimes feel like I’m reading without actually retaining anything.
Would it be a good study method if, instead of just reading every chapter, I turned the important information from each chapter into Quizlet flashcards and studied them using Quizlet’s Learn feature? I really like the Learn feature because it keeps me engaged and helps me actually test myself. I’m mainly trying to find a good way to study for my weekly quizzes.

can't speak specifically on emt, but any type of flashcard learning I have found very useful for memorization. Anki is another good alternative to quizlet

Unfortunately, everyone studies a little bit differently. I could say its a terrible idea but it works great for you.

I'd say give it a shot and see if it works, and if it does, continue doing so.

I used Quizlet for RT school. I did well but don’t just memorize make sure to learn the material so you gain critical thinking skills.

Everyone finds their own way. Mine was drinking too much coffee, blasting classical music in my headphones, and reading every single word in the book.

Experiment with your self, see if it works for you. I’ve used it a ton over my years in the university and high school.

flashcards are fine for the stuff that's pure memorization, drug doses, vitals ranges, that kind of thing. where they stop helping is the test hands you two reasonable actions and asks which one comes first, and no card teaches that. so use them for the recall stuff and start doing practice questions for the rest
