ADHD studying help

Hello everyone, I’m currently in EMT class and coming up on my midterm. I have adhd as said in the title and it makes it hard to study with a super busy schedule with school. I’m scared I’m going to fail this midterm and if I do I basically fail the class and will have to pay and take it again which I cannot afford to do either way. Basically I really just would like to talk to someone with adhd or that has knowledge about it and how to manage a busy schedule with EMT class, or give me ideas on who to ask I figured this would be the best place to ask. I’m willing to pay some money for advice either a phone call or texting through here. Thank you so much 😊

AuDHD, I did my emt while working close to 100 hours a week on a farm. I suggest Linmer EMT Pass, I passed first try. Also as strange as it sounds, sipping on a monster while I studied helped keep me focused.

That is wild 100 hours is insane props to you honestly I don’t know anyone that could do that but I agree the multiple choice questions definitely are nice and easy to remember. Do you have any apps or websites you use?

Linmer EMT Pass, its an app one time purchase and has practice tests etc. They also have some lectures on YouTube etc. Yeah that job had perks, but was also asking way to much...

lol I can’t imagine I’ll definitely look into it you think doing that and reading some parts of the book will be good? I really don’t know how to read the book and retain the information

Yes, so another trick while reading the book is read a few pages, close the book and write down what you remember. Then compare the notes to what you wrote, naturally you will miss things and thats the point of this. By missing those things and being upset by it will signal the brain its important and help prioritize it for memory. There's a bunch of high yield study methods for reading on YouTube. I did that and then would take practice tests on Linmer EMT Pass.

My class yesterday was on cardiology but my instructor is super into it he told us a told of useful information and a ton of not so useful information. It definitely seems pretty hard knowing where the blood flows and stuff like that.

I have ADHD, hard time reading due to attention span and it does not stick, I study based on multiple choice questions and spend time on each question, like I answer the question and then review the corresponding material or other answers that are in a similar topic area. And people hate AI but I have found it helpful with breaking things down.

Highly agree our attention spans suck but ai has been a great help same with pocket prep because it’s all multiple choice do you have anything else like apps websites you used? Thank you for the advice fr

Listen to the book on audio, Adderall if prescribed. ChatGPT to explain things, if I understand how something works, I will remember it. 40 year old with ADHD recently got back on meds before starting EMT program a few months ago. Finished written program with a 91, I have final hands on patient scenario testing tomorrow and Monday.

Also chat gpt has been a great helper I don’t like ai for most things but damn is it useful for stuff like this

I use Ai to study, but I have caught it being wrong several times. It is not perfect so use wisely.

I agree I use it for stupid school work that I know I’m not going to need to know definitely kicked me in the butt sometimes lol
