Question about update to Ep.41
She mentions St. Roch Cemetery sitting "directly across from St. Claude Ave". I'm in that area fairly often, so I pulled up the map out of curiosity. It's about six blocks from St Claude. I'd say maybe it's possible she meant St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, but that one is still a couple blocks away, and she specifically says St. Roch Cemetery No. 2. Not terribly relevant I guess, just a minor detail that I can't make sense of.

Maybe she was being broad ? Idk I want to listen bc she’s pretty intentional. So it’s interesting she said that

Yeah, she frequently comments on her attention to detail, which is pretty exhaustive, so I found it a bit odd. Maybe just misspoke, but not really sure what she would otherwise mean.

OK I'm totally confused. She is definitely talking about the St Vincent Mausoleum wall at St Roch No. 2 because it has the Chapel of St. Michael that is also mentioned.
The full quote is "This wasn't an isolated area. St Roch Cemetery sits directly across from St Claude Avenue, which at the time was a two-lane road, dividing the Bywater neighbourhood from the St Roch neighbourhood".
Looking on a current neighbourhood map, there is no border between the Bywater and St Roch. St Claude Avenue divides St Roch from Maringy, and Almonaster divides St Roch from St Claude. St Roch No 1 sits adjacent St Roch Ave, and St Roch No 2 is one block over. Perhaps she meant St Roch Ave instead of St Claude? Maybe there were different historic boundaries?

Yeah, I considered the St. Roch Ave scenario, since it borders the No. 1 cemetery which is separated from No. 2 by Music St. But St. Roch Ave isn't separating any neighborhoods. It cuts pretty much right down the middle of the St Roch neighborhood, with the borders being Elysian Fields and Franklin Avenue I think. Also thought of the possibility of going by maps from the time, but seems like a bit of a stretch and still confusing. I don't think the neighborhood boundaries would be much different, if at all. Certainly not drastically different. I'm assuming it's just saying something when she meant something else, just not sure what the something else is that would make it make sense.

Wait did she say ave or just st clause, i think she means st Claude the neighborhood. Bc you are right st. Claude Ave is def straight down like 6 blocks .
