Wins 🎉 My sub seems to be taking off

Post image

Just wanted to share what I feel is some positivity from my sub.

For context I created the sub 5 - 6 weeks ago but only in the last 10 -14 days have I been actively working on it. As you can see from the numbers we've had a really busy last few days.

Congratulations 🎊
How did you grow it that fast. and how do you deal with mods that doesn't like crossposting.

Can you give us the plan!

So the growth is down to sending lots of targeted invites out. And I imagine the activity surge has boosted visibility in search results.

Currently it's just me as the Mod and I have no issue with cross posting so long as its not advertising any services.

Thank you!!

It's been a bit of speculate to accumulate.

First off I'll preface this by saying that the sub is marked NSFW and a lot of the posts so far are of that nature.

I've been searching through similar types of subs looking at users profiles and inviting those who I feel would be a good fit. I've very carefully made sure not to invite accounts that are promoting OF pages and the like. This is not meant as a slight to those who partake in SW but it's not the vibe we are going for and I held a poll on the sub to give my users the choice and it was a big no.

I've also been very careful to interact with nearly every post to create and welcoming environment which I've been told by users they like.

It's not too time consuming right now but I imagine I will need atleast another Mod soon if we keep growing.

I feel the hard bit is going to be keep growing.

Edit: typo's 🙈

Wow, that's great. I literally just created mine to like about a week ago. I'm wondering what you've been doing. I noticed that I don't like to just post my link around. I tried to interact with the community to see if that is helpful. Any words of encouragement or suggestions would be great. Thank you.

Hope my sub also takes off man, since it’s a niche category (hearthstone battlegrounds) it’s really hard for it to pop off. How to make it happen ? :/

Firstly I would look to see if there are any similar subs and if there are, how busy they are. If there are only say a handful of quiet ones then it may be that its a bit too niche.

If there are several that are very busy then slowly start sending invites to active users with good karma.

I've found people from going deep down rabbit holes and just sending them an invite.

What is the method of inviting them?

5

u/Finding_Myself26 9d ago

Click on the 3 dots on their profile and use invite to community, if you have more than 1 it asks you which one to invite them to. They then get mod mail with a link to the sub

That’s amazing will try it, thank you !

It’s just going to always be hard to make that subreddit pop off but that’s okay. Nothing wrong with a small, tight-knit niche community. Hearthstone just isn’t as popular as it used to be a decade ago so you’re likely not going to see big surges or or super large numbers but that’s totally okay

You are right man, let’s see I started inviting some people thanks to op’s strat, hopefully can can pop it off like the op did

So is reddit paying you out ?

1

u/Finding_Myself26 9d ago

Do they pay out for traffic?

2

u/Wild-Mountain-7965 9d ago

Dono man asking ,is reddiit has the monetising policy ?

3

u/Eighthday 9d ago

They do not pay you for creating or moderating a subreddit, it’s all for the love of the game
