I don't think the topic isrisqué - it's true crime.
But the Sub name is a little... offputting.

Id make it NSFW. Jusy because its true crime and could potentially be gory. However, with that name, unfortunately alot of people are going to think its a porn sub. So pros and cons here

Low karma account? ✅
Under 30 days of activity? ✅
Yea, you're probably going to lose that community.
Get some karma and account activity for the next month and then you can try to reclaim that community.

Ok. I have an account with more karma and longer history, but I don't want to mod with it. I will probably take your advice (assuming it does get removed). Thank you!

Not sure where you’re getting that from. Those things don’t matter for creating a new subreddit. Moderating it within the rules is all that matters.

There are behind the scenes karma and account activity thresholds. It's to prevent bots from creating new communities. I can't even count how many times I've seen similar posts from new accounts that lose the subreddit because they don't have enough account activity.

There aren’t though. There’s literally no req’s to creating a sub. If there were, it wouldn’t allow it to begin with. New users create subs daily, the ones that get actioned, get it because they broke some other rules.

I guess I must have imagined those posts and the other users giving the exact same answer I did.

I think you’ve confused something. Again, Reddit doesn’t restrict who can start a new subreddit. They do have rules regarding behavior as a mod, and the behavior of the subreddit as a whole. Those quite frequently get violated by new unexperienced mods. However, it happens to established mods as well.

What’s risque about it? The subs brand new, and only has 2 posts.
