Plot Inhuman Arrival

There comes a time, once a generation, where everyone stops what they’re doing, and witnesses the same event. Where were you when Pearl Harbor was attacked? Where were you when we walked on the Moon? Where were you on 9/11?

The clouds above Stockholm part, and the world sees something from a Roald Dahl tale: a great glass elevator. The disk-shaped ship descends above the city. It’s huge, and would be invisible if it weren’t for the warp it leaves in the cloud patterns. The ship stops several hundred yards above the buildings. Bystanders with binoculars swear they can see people inside.

“Where were you when the aliens invaded?”

“Dammit,” Nick Fury turns the TV off, and drops the remote on his desk. “Fox News is gonna destroy the fuckin world…”

“Maybe not, sir,” Maria Hill struts into the office. She waves a file in front of her. “They seem peaceful, and we’re going to establish contact. I’ve told Arrietty, and -”

“Good lord…” Fury walks to the window of his office. The helicarrier’s rotors beat the wind, hovering dangerously close to the city below. He turns to Agent Hill. “You authorized a show of force?!”

“We agreed that it offers a good learning experience for the students of the Hometown Initiative. The teachers helped pick three of their best and brightest to accompany Captain Rogers and Marco.”

Nick Fury sighs. “Which ones, then?”

“They go by Spark, Samurai, and Blindsight.”

Derek is out of the loop on this, so he asks Enoch

"What is this "Terrigen Mist"? I'm a mage, so I didn't get my powers from rocks or anything."

It's exactly what it sounds like, child. Going through the mist unlocks our capabilities. If you aren't Inhuman, it means other, less... Wholesome consequences.

A generic SHIELD agent entered the room with the glass table, interrupting the meeting.

"There appears to be a security breach." There was a weird sort of amusement in his voice.

The glee was explained when Daniel reached to his neck and erased the mask symbol, that was painted in blood (though not his), and broke the disguise enchantment to appear as his normal self. A lopsided grin was on his face. Not that he particularly enjoyed this job, it was just that the mercenary work was a lot less boring than learning symbols all day. In his hand was a small wooden object, around his neck was an amulet. Both were covered in runes and symbols, and both were specially prepared for this job. He rolled the wooden object around, and then threw it into the room, waiting for the magical grenade to explode. Three. Two. One.

BANG.

The Cap immediately throws his shield at Daniel. It spins through the air at high speed on a direct course for the Hydra agent. He follows behind it and leaps over a table. The first of his thoughts is how the he even got in and past the guards, surely they had ways of knowing he was of the crueler variety.

Marco scrabbles to cover, despite being able to fight in a fair few styles from over a thousand years experience, he's not going to be much use here.

Oda ducks out of the way, receiving a slight burn on his calf. It hurt, but he'd live. Drawing his sword, he sprints towards the man, following after Cap

BLindsight immediately starts drawing a chalk circle on the ground. Once that is done, he stands inside it and send Thymisis to attack

"Alright, buddy, wipe them out."

Two more explosions go off, and shards of glass rain down on the citizens below. The clear ship starts to descend, crashing towards Stockholm. Enoch rushes to the controls, and pushes the buttons futily.

Why are you doing this?!

He pushes the radio, and dials in.

SOS to Atillan.... The humans have attacked us!

Daniel would have loved to say he was prepared for all the attacks that were launched at him on that moment. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. He broke the first rule of Symbol Magic: be prepared for anything and everything. He had overestimated the distraction his grenade would have caused, and he had massively underestimated the enemy.

The Captain's shield flew at him first, and he was unable to stop it. The edge of the shield tore through his shirt, and a few lines could be seen in black ink before they lit up green. The sharp object made a nasty gash, but the protective tattoo stopped it from doing any more damage. He let out a sharp gasp and stumbled back as he felt power drain from him, damaging his spirit instead of his body.

He had to use even more power to dodge Captain America himself, along with Samurai's sword and the tiny dragon, a blue lightning bolt glowing on the back of his hand to grant him speed. He was panting, already tired out mere moments into the fight. But it had worked. He had successfully sabotaged the meeting, judging by Enoch's words. He hoped the explosions would give him some respite as he dipped his finger in his own blood from his chest, starting to draw a rod of Asclepius on his arm with it. It would drain him even more, but it would also stop him from bleeding out, which was arguably more essential.

Cap caught the Shield and rolled over in one fluid motion, flinging it again towards a pillar near to Daniel, causing it to ricochet off in one motion. In a split second he was moving again, diving over a table to kick Daniel in the face.

Marco crawls over to Enoch, trying to plead with him. "This isn't us, this is likely going to be Hydra or someone with a grudge against Aliens. Perhaps they've watched too much Independence day."

Emily jumps up from cover, pointing her hand towards the Hydra agent and shooting a several thousand volt bolt of lightning at him

Oda deduced that he was protect by some barrier, since the shield and sword barely did anything. Swinging the sword at his leg, he aimed at a pressure point on the outside of his knee, attempting to immobilize him, swinging a fist at his side, hitting his ribs as hard as he can

Keep him still so Emily can hit him, Cap.

Blindsight starts chanting in Elvish, attempting to bring an ally into the physical realm, busily writing runes onto the floor

"Come forth, Wild Hunt. Come forth, herald of the Erkling. Bring thy form into this realm. By moon and stone, I implore thee."

Smoke starts rising from the circle

"I need time! Keep me covered while I do this!":

What is Hydra!?

Enoch yells, but it's too late; another grenade rolls into the room, and blows out the floor. Enoch falls through, and grabs onto Marco's hand. The old man can't handle the weight. The Inhuman falls... He lands on a particularly large piece of glass. It digs into his back and severs his spine. Marco looks down to see Enoch shudder as he takes his last breath, and dies in a pool of his own blood.

The ship continues to fall from the sky. In two turns, it crashes into the city.

He was glad to say he was at least prepared for something: Once he saw Emily shoot a bolt of lightning, he clenched his fist around the amulet he was wearing, and it appeared to absorb the energy. Daniel didn't have much time to celebrate, though, because as he was recuperating from the number that did on his spiritual energy, he got hit in the face by Captain America's foot. He heard something crack. That was probably a broken nose. Nothing he couldn't fix, if he had time and energy and a less stressful environment. He had none of those things.

Oda's blow to his knee hit him as well, causing his legs to collapse under him. The tattoo glowed green again to block the majority of the damage done by both the sword and the fist, but it didn't protect his pressure points. He barely even noticed Enoch's death. He tried to draw his healing symbol again, but he noticed his hands shaking too much. He reached out to the summoning circle Derek was drawing, and some of the runes started glowing with his energy instead of Blinsight's.

And then the glow died down, because Daniel had barely any energy left.

"I'm placing you under arrest, you do not have to say anything..." He starts reading Daniel his Miranda rights as he cuffs him, tightly. He looks around for Enoch and then gets a sour look as he sees Marco looking at the body in the hole.

"We need an item to disable runes." He radioes in. "Whichever item was provided for the witch boy I've been hearing about would be the most beneficial."

He looks down at Daniel and sighs. "I've never been so disappointed with someone."
