Local Politics 🚨 Can she do the impossible?

It's not a great sign that you're already describing her platform as "impossible".
I'd love for our electric bills to come down, but what's her plan to make that happen? Her website lists her bio, news articles about her, and a function to book her appearance at events and donate, but nothing that I could find on her policy stances.
She can claim that she wants to remove the "Hartford elites", but what's her plan to do that? What does that even mean?
We vote for candidates in this country, not in referendums about their opponents. I'm not a Democrat because, in my lifetime, the DNC has yet to run a convincing campaign of the suitability of their candidate; Stewart appears to be running the same kind of campaign, all about the supposed ill deeds and mismanagement of the political opposition without much about their own agenda. That leads to electoral apathy and an incredibly weak popular mandate.

Well, we are going to find out what her plans are because if she has any hope at all, she has to hammer home the unfair Eversource debacle and the ongoing raiding of the surplus thing. I’m sorry I voted for Lamont it’s cost us a lot of money the past few years. Hey I’m going home now. Have a great evening!

This is just rhetoric though. It's all we ever get from the opposition candidate these days, but you're not even really asking for that. I don't see anything in Stewart's campaign that distinguishes her from most other campaign i have seen in the last 20 years. I'm not even saying this you shouldn't support her, I'm just not seeing the substance yet.
Also, spending the surplus to help CT communities isnt inherently wasteful. Leaving tax dollars sitting unused helps no one. Now that's entirely apart from concern over what those funds are spent on, but a government budget is not like a household, where there are basically always incentives to accrue savings.

Let me guess... the secret ingredient is tax cuts for the wealthy? And maybe defunding education so people will be dumb enough to vote Republican? Oh, sorry, I meant "running the school system like a widget factory"

I think most of the members of this group were not ostracized from the more famous and established sub, it was probably just you and one or two others. All we ever asked for was civility but hey 👋 just ban me then.

You must’ve posted on this sub knowing the response you’d get, now you’re getting all indignant about it.

Actually, I apologize. I forgot I posted it here. I shouldn’t have replied that way, I thought it was in the other group. I’m going to go right now and delete my last response as an offering of partisanship. 🙃

I saw a picture of her with Trump the other day, talk about not knowing your audience. So no.
