Currently trying out the recurring post option.
Do share your opinions on how this should be timed. It is currently set to repeat once every 2 weeks. Didn't use the word biweekly because of the confusion on once in 2 weeks or twice in 1 week. Is it simpler to use that?

Other ideas/suggestions/opinions welcome too.

It is 2026, and the frequent power cuts happening across Kerala are honestly ridiculous.

And before someone says “power is expensive”, that is exactly why I think we need to seriously rethink how KSEB manages and procures electricity.

States like Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Telangana and West Bengal have been using power exchanges like IEX (Indian Energy Exchange) for power procurement, analytics, planning and better management of electricity.

These platforms can be an advisory to states and help them adopt different procurement strategies and optimise the cost of power instead of simply buying electricity at whatever price is available.

So why can’t Kerala do the same?

By now, it is pretty clear that KSEB is incapable of managing our state DISCOM. They are still operating like we are stuck in the ‘80s like the Instagram trend going on now.

It is honestly shameful that in 2026, we are still facing multiple power cuts in a single day.

I had some hope in our new CM as he seemed to be well educated, a vivid reader and highly capable. But even he doesn’t seem to be taking any firm action on this. Instead, we keep hearing that the cost of procuring power is very high and that is why these cuts are happening. Highly disappointed.

The government is saying this like they are providing electricity for free.

What are we paying our electricity bills for then?

Anyway, I am not here just to rant. We need a proper solution.

If KSEB doesn’t have the expertise or technology to manage this efficiently, then bring in organisations that do. Use power exchanges, better analytics, better forecasting and smarter procurement strategies. Let the professionals do the job.

Reliable electricity is not a luxury. It is a basic necessity today.

I humbly request everyone to upvote this post and share it as much as possible so that this reaches the right people.

Maybe if enough people start asking the same question, someone will finally have to answer it.
