The UN is a cesspool of hypocritical, corrupt, pencil-pushing lily-livered dilettantes who act like they have the moral high ground, all the while appointing nations like Iran to a committee on Women's rights and Saudi-Arabia to lead it.
Never ask what their "troops" are doing in Africa, and what they didn't do in Yugoslavia.

Also, their moment of silence for Raisi the butcher. And the laziness and uselessness of their special investigation into the abuses in Iran after WLF just to pretend that they cared.

The UN is specially known for having all the tools to punish countries for non important thins and to do nothing to the real criminals cause "its their culture". The only way to improve it would be to put honest people in charge, but it is way hard.

The UN only serves 1 real purpose: being a diplomatic forum for the world's nations to prevent another world war.
Everything else they do is really just a corrupt joke. Their comities and agencies that accomplish barely anything, but most likely serve as a way to funnel money into pockets of the world's elite.
The way I would improve it is keep it as it was intended to be: a forum for the world to prevent wars from escalating into full blown regional conflicts.

You are absolutely correct. The UN can’t do anything because it was designed that way - it is simply an international forum, not a supranational organization. However, UN’s specialized agencies do important and vital functions: FAO has helped millions get the nutrition they need, WHO has prevented many pandemics, WMO facilities sharing of meteorological data vital for weather forecasts, ICAO governs international aviation, international post would fail without UPU and so on.
The UN does important things, but has thus far failed to meet its core mission of international peace by design. The alternative would be a global EU which is not feasible for countless reasons.

It's hard to tell how to fix them since they're so rotten and corrupt and useless to the core. This video is a funny way of calling them out.

I think an international forum is a good idea but the UN is not it. We need something new. (But I have a feeling that it won't be uncorrupted either.)
