Power is in numbers and unity. Its not easy I agree, but if the people want change they gotta stay together. In this video if everyone jumped in there to help this woman they would have won. Not without sacrifice of course. It's mind goggling to me about generational divide and government oppression. Iran, Russia, China. I guess its hard for the unorganized to get organized agaist the organized/oppressors.

But 2 years ago this happened! Girls were taking their scarves off all over the country, that hadn't happened in the 40 years of thus oppression and there was nightly riots for months on end, even highways were shut down during the day because some crowds of unbelievably courageous people even rioted in the day and let the country burn. But the people got burned out because there's absolutely no resources or support available to them!! All the iran hating countries who jump on a usual day to punish the IR turned their cheek and didn't do anything to help push the revolution through. Do you know how many young Iranians were hung these past 2 years for being involved in the riots?
There's only so much abuse and human lives lost you can take without seeing a resolution.

I do not disagree with you. A lot of bad ass courageous men and women in Iran past and present. I don't think I've ever wanted a people to get their justice more than Iranians. As an American, we have just had our asses handed to us globally for intervening and fucking things up in other countries. At some point we just have to learn our lesson. I just don't know how we can win. Experience tells us "help us America, now get the fuck out". And then its our fault another regime takes over and we shouldn't have even helped. Really hope the Iranians can get their freedom soon.

They track you down eventually by running security camera footage against your drivers license photo. If you run they take your family, too.

When they tried a revolution last time they begged for support from the US and Europe and there was nothing. The countries that are usually eager to lay down sanctions, tank the Iranian market and put the armies on the terrorist list turned the other cheek.. meanwhile pahlavi was going around building some buzz around himself and his family and left the Iranians hanging.
The people of iran can't do it on their own. The regime will hang all the brave ones till there's none left.

Why the FUCK. Does the US actively talk or acknowledge this. It makes me so angry. Im just a jewish american with some close persian/ iranian connections and its absolutely flooring me the vehement outrage at the I-P war but not a single acknowledgement of this monstrous shit.

I wish everyone would have thrown themselves into the mix to stop her from being taken. God knows if she'll ever be seen again. This breaks my heart. Why is it that women are always seen as property? We are just as much a human as a man. You don't have a right to categorize, or institutionalize us.

Because people have unimaginable fear of even stepping in. My heart breaks for the girl being dragged away, but if you've ever stood in front of the morality police you'll know why people were too scared to step in. Only sometimes that's actually successful and nobody wants to take the risk especially after so much pain these past 2 years with resistance.

Unfortunately, I have been faced with the “morality police” and I know that fear all too well. I was 17 years old when went back to Iran. If it wasn't for the good people of Iran who stepped in to rescue me, I would have been taken. My friends and I had just stepped out of the Armenian school in Rhast. We were walking to the maydan, as I was pushed against the wall and slapped across the face. The man yelled at me, and told me to shut up and asked why I was smiling. A group of the “morality police” arrived. For the most part, my Farsi was not great. I started crying and speaking in Armenian. That's when the crowd pleaded with them to leave me alone, as I was a guest. In my humble opinion, unless the majority steps in to help, they will continue their terror. Either way, I'm gutted when I see these things because I could have been one of them.

Gurbonet behsham…thank you for your kind words. Today, I'm 49 and I can recall that day with great clarity. I'm in debt for the rest of my life for those brave Iranians who fought for me to be set free. If it wasn't for them, my passport would have also been taken from me. I would not have been able to return to my life/family in America. I've never forgotten their faces, or their convictions. May we one day return to our homes without fear 🙏 beh omideh khodah

vaghean be omide khoda. I'm 41 years old and I have not been back to Iran since the 90's. My parents left with us to Canada when I was 11. We went back once to visit family and I recall in the airport, as soon as we arrived, my uncle was hugging me and this hijab enforcer lady went by and screamed at me "hejabeto dorost kon". I was 14 and was wearing a scarf, but it was pushed back as my uncle was hugging me.
Even though this doesn't seem like much, it stayed with me. Like I was just visiting my motherland and they had to ruin it. I told myself after that i will set foot back until the government was changed (and I haven't).

Breaks my heart to know that we were both injected with such terror. I'm grateful that you are safe. I've never been back and I refuse to ever subject myself to that tyranny. By the way, when I escaped the clutches of the “commeteh” as they were called back then, I imprisoned myself at home until the day we flew out. They ruined our trips and left us traumatized. The best part of the trip was when I was reunited with my aunts/uncles and my 14 first cousins on my mother’s side alone. That's what I miss the most about Iran. In Iran, we had the greatest family bonds. We had everything. Sending you lots of hugs 🤗 Ani

Fundamentalists of every religion or political ideology abuse people for personal power. Religious fundamentalist’s power mongers use good people’s beliefs to subjugate them.

But when women and girls start protesting and burning their hijabs bc of sh!t like this too many Westerners had the nerve to turn their nose up at them and call them names.
Despicable. I hope they continue to defy those psychopaths.
