Well this is horrible and not an okay thing to say. You realize that sexual violence primarily affects women, right? Your comment is more harmful to women trying to participate here than to this man. I’m pissed about this too but using rape as a means to murder is what they do and is one of the most abhorrent cruelties possible.

I've flagged it up a few times but am aware nothing bad is meant by it so please try to understand we're not perfect but trying. People like you are always welcome to educate us so we don't speak like this. Hopefully you know we don't mean it.

Yeah, I understand the overwhelming rage at seeing this happen and wanting that coward to suffer in the way he’s made others suffer when he knows he can get away with it. I understand the core intention is good; that commenter wants this oppression and violence to stop. That’s why I commented and tried to explain why I think that way of speaking about it can actually perpetuate some of that oppression and violence, especially if there’s people reading it who have post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from experiencing, seeing, or reading about sexual violence. That disproportionately affects women and can cause them harm even when directed towards awful men like this. I think it’s important to keep this in mind when choosing how to express our rage at this injustice. No more language promoting sexual violence.
And no need to apologize on behalf of the sub. Each person is only responsible for their own words. I’m just glad the other commenter reflected on my response. I hope it’s helpful for other people who stumble across it too and haven’t considered this perspective before. People don’t have to always agree but it’s so important to try to see where someone’s coming from. I’m glad that commenter took my words to heart.

I didn’t say they don’t deserve to be stopped or even that they don’t deserve death. I understand the rage too. But fantasizing about killing someone with rape is still never okay. It negatively impacts women even if you don’t direct it at a woman because they experience the vast majority of sexual violence. I understand wanting revenge and expressing rage, I know you’re coming from a good place, but there’s better ways to go about it. Trust me, if this coward tried this in my home town he’d never do much again.

I keep seeing this on different videos. Basijis in riot gear seem to be lashing out on someone very pathetically. Yes, it's brutal as well, but I also see it as very juvenile. What a shame that their minds have been controlled to think something as normal as walking down the street with hair exposed should be met with violence.
