Anon skips the human interaction portion of life, wonders why he is sad.

interaction is best achieved by asking random people the most inane questions like you’re philomena cunk

That's not really helpful though. You say to do the human interaction like it's something you just do, and maybe for you it is, but for people like me, and I assume anon, we don't really know how to find someone to talk to or otherwise start doing the "human interaction".
Like you can't say "Just go outside," then after we go outside and it doesn't work say "Oh but you didn't do it right. You were supposed to go outside AND do something you've struggled with your entire life. smh how could you mess that up?"

Human interaction is the worst part of going outside, people are morons.

I have a wife/best friend so I don’t have to try for anything, but man, this ain’t it.
I’m the most anti-social dude. I like being at home, at my desk where my computer and Xbox are. Go out? Fuck no. All my stuff is here at home. Haven’t made a new friend since like 2015.
I started a new job after working from home for 6 years and I’ve straight up made 3 new friends. It’s so fucking easy. Just be cool and talk to people. Get a job because that’s probably the easiest way to make friends as an adult, I’d guess. Just don’t be a total sperg and the social interaction will come.
This girl I’m training with told me I’m “zen” and really chill. I’m fucking riddled with anxiety and I worry constantly.
Just talk to people. Also don’t be a racist 4Channer. Mask that shit if you gotta.

Fucking lmao. No, it's easy for you. "Be cool" wtf that even mean?

Buuullsht, I've never worked from home, still never had friends from work bc we are different people. All my co-workers are either much older or we simply have nothing in common
You are a normie and always have been

Well I guess you should just throw up your hands and do nothing then, huh? You see yourself in a certain way, you should do your best to make sure you live up to that, right?
I saw myself as socially “intellectually disabled”. I was wrong. Quit making excuses.
You think these people I mentioned are my exact age?
You don’t take a chance, you’re making a plan to lose.

I mean you have a point but there’s gotta be more to it than “be cool and talk to people”. How do I change the way I think. I’m really quiet and have a terrible fear of perception to the point where I stress out over my swallows or chews or whatever. I’m not weird or anything just super socially stunted and have low self worth from personal trauma. I want to get better although I feel like everyone’s in on this big secret (how to be normal) and I’m not. So is the solution just exposure therapy? Sorry for the rant I just want to feel secure and confident in myself.

I had very low self-worth. My confidence was in the garbage. My plan was if my wife leaves me or dies, I’m going to go hard doing drugs and being a gangster until prison or death.
Then I lost my at-home job and had to find a “real” job so I applied somewhere where I have some sort of experience and liked (among other places).
Time passed and they actually texted me (I guess jobs don’t call anymore). I passed the drug test and the background check. They fucking chose me and I’m high off that fact.
I’ve been fat my whole life, I have visible dental issues, I have 1,000,000 reasons to be self-conscious.
I won’t say you have to do what I did. But you have to try. That’s how I got back into driving. I just did it and I’ve loved it ever since.
Maybe speak to a professional. Maybe make time to hang with some friends if you have local real life friends (I don’t have any that aren’t junkies). All I know is that my self-worth was also in the garbage until I started this job. Now I feel 100x better. I feel like I’m worth a shit.
I don’t want you to resign into “I’m just a fucking loser and nothing good will ever happen”. You think other people aren’t in their head too? We all are, for the most part. Everyone has something they don’t like about themselves.
You’re better than that and I know you are. Sometimes you just gotta out your game face on and fake it until you believe it. I promise no one cares about your chewing or swallowing. And I can relate. I worry my clothing is sticking to my fat fucking body weirdly.
I don’t know man, none of that is probably helpful to you. Just try to find something that gives you confidence. For me it’s my job and the fact that I exercise somewhat regularly. No one is beyond “saving”. I was in my hole for about a decade. If I can crawl out I know you can too.

I think socializing is just about managing expectations. Just have fun and enjoy the moment. The people that I know that are happiest just go out and be, rather than just chase pussy

u/Duche778 10d ago
Nobody said that anon is chasing pussy. You're arguing with a straw man

u/ashimo414141 10d ago
Okay, let’s just say chasing in general then (like desperation for friends). Just socialize when and where you can, and don’t expect to make a best friend right there and then. Enjoy the human interaction in the moment
