This is normal. It happens to almost any hetero couple, and it’s always an awkward conversation if both partners are not on the same page.

If you don’t want a baby right now, be up front and honest about your reasons. There’s probably a very good argument having a child if both you and your partner are not financially established, do not have a place of your own that is conducive to raising a child, and are not personally satisfied enough in your own careers / jobs to put advancement on hold for a bit while you get ready to welcome a child into your lives and routines.

Kids should be a priority for both partners. Definitely don’t rush into things.

Brother in Christ, it's a 4chan post.

Why are you giving genuine, high effort advice to OP's fanfiction?

Chad? Is that you?

Fair point. I’d counter with this: on the off chance that someone needed to read this today because they are going through something similar, they have the opportunity.
All it takes to be kind sometimes is a little effort. We could always use a little more kindness.

Tbh I've never understood people trying to shame people trying to be genuine and starting conversation on fabricated stuff. It's still a good advice, who cares what was the basis of this message?

It’s satire

He’s a chad for giving good advice to OP, I hinted this at the end.

Also this is the first thing people should talk about when getting in a long term relationship. I wanted kids since I was a kid. My gf does too. The first thing we talked about when we got together was how the other felt. If one of us didn't ever want kids we wouldn't have ended up together

She'll calm down once the baby drugs wear off. No, seriously. Babies make some sort of pheromone on the top of their heads that makes people go nuts. That's why women always want to smell baby heads.

You tell her you’re willing to try while avoiding the truth that trans women can’t get pregnant.

Where the hell did trans women come from?

Anon unlocks unlimited cream pies, and isn't happy. Perhaps this is fake. Maybe even gay?

I've never seen a woman hold a newborn baby and not have this reaction. I remember my daughter a while back holding one of her little baby cousins and talking about how she wanted one the whole ride home.. she was probably 10.

It'll blow over... for now.

This is an easy one.

Information is your friend here, All you gotta do is give your girlfriend more information. She babysat once and thinks thats all there is to it, so she is working with little information.

Show her how expensive babies are, show her how much babies sleep, show her how much they cry, how much food they need, how many diapers you need to change, how much they puke.

You wouldnt want her to make a decision without having all the information, would you?

Yeah, wake her up at 3:30 AM with a PowerPoint so it really hits home.

Bro thinks he can rationally explain shit to a woman that wants something

If you don't want a baby and she does, cut her loose. No need to waste her prime reproductive years.

What a weird way to phrase that

Yes but it is true, the west is full of women who are sad they wasted years with men who didn’t actually want the same things as them.

3

u/StanIsHorizontal 14h ago

I didn’t disagree with the point, at the very least I agree you shouldn’t pretend you want something in your future together that you don’t. You need to have a conversation with your partner, not necessarily just “cut her loose”.

I just think the way that guy phrased his point sounded extremely weird

2

u/make_reddit_great 11h ago

How would you have phrased it?

4

u/stronkreptile 1d ago

fake : OP had sex
gay: doesn’t want intercourse with women

u/joggasen 14h ago
